What's hotter than a S400?

Ok, except for going up to a brushless motor or "bigger" motor, what motors would give a better performance than a stock S400, say, for less than $35?

Assume staying with a 7 cell pack and same ESC as comes with the Sky Scooter Pro.

Turbo 450. It puts out way more power then a 400. Amp draw will increase though, so you'll have to watch your packs. Are you using a geared setup or direct drive? The 450 is also a bit heavier---rob

Be sure you are using a 6 volt vs the 7.2 volt version.
Ball bearing version also has more kick

Possibly the Multiplex Permax 400BB. I haven't tried it but I have heard good things about this motor.

The Multiplex Turbo 450 is a LOT heavier than an S400, and is actually a slower motor (lower Kv), so though it is more efficient, I wouldn't describe it as "hotter".

Ok, so EXACTLY what are you referring to when you say "hotter"? More overall power or what? My friend Greg, uses a Rocket 400 which if I remember correctly is a 4.8 volt speed 400. It of course does not have a very long life span.

Most of us that fly Zagis use the 450 turbo to increase our performance. You can swing a larger prop with it then the 400, I use a 6x5 Aeronaut. It is definately a Hotter/faster setup. It also fits most places that a 400 does. It is priced under $30----Rob

Hi!

Is the Turbo 450 the same diameter as speed 400?!

Cheers,
