Myrtle Corey build finished

I will start a new build thread here so others can have the hull discussion in the other thread. The hull is not that bad, it could be thicker but it's not that flexable. now to the build. I have the hull planked and have found no problems, the wood quality is rather good, I was suprised, the mahogany strips are not cupped and the ply is not warped.

vett: Thanks for continuing the build thread!

What brand, or where do you get those long nose clamps? I have seen the others before and have some myself. But I have not seen those particular long nose versions.

Thanks Vett for sharing the pictures. Did you repair your hull or get a replacement?

While you're there, pick up the ratcheting clamps as well. One package that I bought came with both types of clamps.

couple of more pictures. Skegs are in and paddle wheel frames are built right now i am putting the feathers (paddles) onto the wheels. The wheels are the same as on all the dumas kits 3 laminations of die cut ply for each wheel they came out of the sheet pretty easy I guess because the dies were new but they were wraped but it is an easy fix if you glue each lamination 90 degrees to each other and weight them down to dry flat.

Vett You could always call Dumas on their toll free number. Not much they can do at this point considering how far along you are on the build.
You're doing a great job so far, looking forward to seeing how this comes along.

Did you paint the white plastic frames with the same stain you used on the wood? It sure is a good match!

Yes the wheels do look the same. The paint is Krylon leather brown, I might change the color. I use Krylon 99% of the time because it dries fast and covers very nice. right now I just finished the window frames and am working on the cabin, pictures later.
