Hello!
These days had some problems with the masking tape, witch intend to use in overlaped-panel tehnique .The soft glue from the tape remains on "chit" -ed surface Wuh ! need some thinner and patience to remove it. Lucky-ly only on small surface, on bottom of bellypan. But... find the solution! A first coat of paper low tack masking tape ( automotive-painting masking tape )and over it, a coat of vinyl masking tape, to protect against sanding's abrasive effect. The paper m.t. not leave glue on surface ... ha ha ![]() First tests on bellypan. For the moment filling the space with acrilic "chit" and having a grossier sanding. All looks to be OK. After this another coat of "coloured" ( with printer black ink ) acrilic "chit". On wing have attched all the hatches ( white 0.15mm. plastic ). Oh! ... and the MG barrels with their protecting plates! As I promissed next wheek, more quality pics taken with a friend's Digi-cam. Your's JIMMY |

Jimmy, I use electrical tape for overlapped panels. I've had no problems with it leaving any type of residue plus it is water proof if you need to wet sand over it. I generally use spot putty to build up the panel edges and wet sand down to the tape. Good luck with your Jug.

Today take off the paper+vinyl tape from the wing-fuse joint, after finishing the sand-over. Looks OK. There are still more places where I can test electrical tape It's streching good and the courved lines can be followed. Thank's for the tip! I use waterbased acrilic filler. It's soft ,easy to dry-sand and is light. I have two rolls of different type of electrical tape.Today will make a test! Thank's for watching my P-47 thread Your's Jimmy |

I just wanna report that I have a bird now! It's not the PT-40 as I reported before - the mail company lose it- Well, this one is a brazilian model called "pastinha". The closest translation to english is "little folder" because the model is totally covered by school folders plastic ( in portuguese folder = pasta ). It's an ugly look and heavy but it flies gentle and have a nice gliding skills. Comming soon it will flies! As soon I have some money (lots of money to me) purchase a radio. Hugs to all! Wil |

Hello Wilian!
I'm glad to see you're glad! A nice lookin' plane! The material whitch is used for fuse and wing ( as I can see on closer detail pics ), here in Romania is called "coroplast". In Romania ( and I'm sure all over ) are some dedicated clubs with "coroplast" wonder-making guys. Had the oporunity to see some pieces-of-art having the main building material "coroplast". You can take a look here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=702765 If you search SPAD with google ,will find amazing things about how to build, repair, tehniques a.s.o. using coroplast as main building material ( and not only coroplast ).http://www.coroplast.com/ Congratulations!
