Here's a build thread for my brother's new Destiny. I am liking the way it's coming out so far, it should be a ripper! It should hold about 13 oz of ballast when completed, loadable through the canopy, without tools.

You do nice work T. Question: What do you use to keep the ballast in place? I.E. what functions as the stop?

You should see the kits I have amassed! I hope to be good, and buy none or less this year, and build more.

I may swap one or more of my current F3F planes for some others, but that doesn't count!

I actually hadn't thought of that.
I think I'll eyeball it against the one that flys already, and see how it compares.
If it looks off, I will add the same amount of shims to the tail.
If it looks fixed, I'll start without shims....

I had the "new fuse" on mine, with the tail bolting down through the top instead of up through the bottom, and it was still way off. FYI, YMMV.

Ours is a bottom bolter...

For reference, Thuren says he raised the rear of the wing saddle 8mm and added 4 layers of tape under the tail. We have two newer Destinys setup that way up here and they seem to fly great:

That's supposed to be from the older mold. I compared a buddy's with my newer fuse and they seemed just the same decalage-wise.

I think that I'd rather raise the tail more.
I don't want the fuselage to be "drooped" when the wing is on plane, do you follow?
I'd rather have the fuse more downsloped in relation to the wing...
Not sure what the flight differences would be, if any, but visually, I think shimming the tail as much as possible is the way to go.
Also, I think that you'll get better fine tuning if the wing is adjusted minimally after the tail is anjusted grossly, if that make sense.

You doing the vertical load like TFLG did? Wish I could get my Brother to fly with me....he's into Hockey though.
