Since it is Christmas and we were discussing Jesus being born in church this morning, I was just wondering what would happen if Jesus was born this year and not over 2000 years ago? Do you think he would have had the same impact in today's society?

Would we have simply dismissed him and/or put him in an insane asylum?

Thoughts or comments welcomed.

Do you think much was thought of Jesus and he had much influence in the world at the time he was alive? Probably not. Think some politically not really influential person in some small middle eastern country. Would we likely know of him in the US? Probably not. I'd think more or less if he was in the US he would be thought of something like the leader of a cult. Like most of those until it's grown and been around a few hundred years it isn't going to have much sway or awareness among people. So to answer your question. You probably wouldn't have heard of him to begin with and without a few hundred years of being pushed along with some myth and legend surrounding the story developing there would probably be little to no effect on the world.

Greatest single model airplane design ever... Hmm.... Depends on what perspective you are comming from.

Best basic trainer design would be the Sig Kadet. the basic proportions of all the successful glow power trainers are the same as that design. The Kadet series kits have been on the market for about 40 years..... and still sell.

That makes it about as successful as you can get.

Here's my take but we have to go on an assumption that Jesus had not come yet.

I think we would have put Mary in a hospital to prove she was a virgin and pregnant. Of course there would be one camp that said she wasn't and the other side said she was. The National Enquirer would of course say she was impregnated by an alien.

The after the baby (Jesus) was born, the press and TV would follow the baby around constantly. They would probably start some kind of reality TV show on him to see him perform miracles.

So I'm thinking in all of God's wisdom, he sent his Son to us at the right time in the world's history.

Speaking of Mary the virgin...did you ever wonder why Joseph was named as a descendent of King David? And if Jesus was descended from King David, and Mary was a virgin, how did Jesus get his genes through Joseph?

That would be cheating, as the other chromosomes are being provided...no...there is also something called parthenogenesis which happens in animals like salamanders and newts, so in humans it would really be a miracle, especially since he spoke as a newborn baby[you'd have to read the Quran to find out more about that!] , defending his mother against the expected filthy allegations.
