Don Smith has a nice plan for a 141" and a 169" B-29. The glasss cowls and all the vac formed clear plastic canopy and dome windows are available for both sizes, which will speed the build.....
Designed for gas, but certainly could be adapted in a lighter build for electric......or, use these glass and plastic parts and design your own model to the same size, for electrci type construction. I think retracts are available as well for these... http://www.donsmithplans.com/ |

From what I've read,DS plans leave a lot for the builder to figure out.Check with Bob Holman in Ca. He is the importer for brian taylor plans. www.bhplans.com very nice guy to deal with.He also can enlarge any of his plans too.

True, but for an electric conversion that needs structural lightening and simplification anyway, it would be a good jumping off point. Plus, the availabilty of the glass and plastic parts is a plus. |

Check with Mac Hodges at Hodges Hobby in Andersonville, Ga., his number is on his website. He has built one that does what you want to do, but I do not know if he has plans.

I'll speak to colin next time I see him and ask how he modified it but it might be a while before I see him next.
The LMA stands for Large Model Association here in the UK. They are the people who are incharge of approving the planes and pilots of large models. They had a meeting at bickley model flying club which is where I saw this b29 and had a go of it. I have found some pictures. http://www.veaseyjet.com/VeaseyJet/M...ey_LMA_07.html I'm not shure of the construction all colin said to me was that he has lightened it. It was built from the 140" don smith plan I believe. |

Rick (aka Silverfox031) has a build thread going over on RCSCALEBUILDER
http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...663&PN=1&TPN=1 It's the 141 inch Don Smith B-29 converted to electric, might be of interest to all. Also check out this site's monster models, there are a couple of electric B-29's there too: http://www.flyelectric.ukgateway.net/largesum.htm#multi - John. |
