I wouldn't.

Fickle flier: The short kit and plans do not include a fuselage. It's designed to work with existing pod/boom composite fuselages out there. Same with the Houston Hawk but fuselages for the HH are not so easy to source. That's why I drew one up and this Yardbird fuse is a variation of that. I made another version today for the HH. It could easily be modified for the Yardbird too. I like to build with wood, that's why I have even started down this path.

I like your designs. This one looks similar to my e-pod. I'd post a pic of that too, but I just drew it out right on the building board and put it together over top of the plan.

Without my digging out my plans from their safe resting place, I'd love to know what dimensions of the Yardbird wooden fuselage whose plan was just posted here would need to be changed in order to use it with the Houston Hawk plans/lasercuts.

I think I'm asking what the differences are between the Yardbird and Houston Hawk designs that pertain to mating them to a fuselage.

The Hawk has plug in wings at the fuselage like a Sagitta, the Yardbird is a top mount like an Allegro or Bubble Dancer (just to name some of my other planes).

Obviously that makes the fuselages much different.

Dion, the shoulder wing mount for the Yardbird vs. the plug-in wings of the Houston Hawk sure does make a difference. Oh, well, a good idea while it lasted. All us HH builders are patiently hoping that Jack gets enough breathing room to design a wooden HH fuselage. I have a lovely brand new fiberglass fuselage for the HH, but I was hoping to be able to build its structure entirely of wood. At any rate, you did a beautiful job with the Yardbird fuselage. Thank you.

I built my YardBird about 2 years ago w/ two Art Hobby fuses--TD and electric. Still flying. Use the electric mostly. Flies great. Just remember to use spruce, not 'hard balsa' for outer panel spars, or you'll build the wing twice, like I did.
