Curvy Covering Monokote

Just a quick question ?? What would be a common around the house tool to trace or get nice curves in your covering or trim ?? I have a buddy that has a french curve (drafting tool ) that does a nice job however there a bit hard to find. Theres just alot of nice schemes on the monokote poster, I'm wondering how it's done any ideas ??

I don't know where you are located, but a set of French Curves can be bought from- Office Max - Staples or any other outlet of that type.

When I was a designer we used to use a "Flexicurve" instead of french curves. It's a flexible piece of plastic about 10" long reinforced inside with, I think, something like a piece of bicycle chain so that it can only bend in one plane. You bend it to almost any curve you want, and it stays there. There's one here http://www.misterart.com/store/view....1171&store=001 and the picture describes it much better than I do.

I should add, the only downside of a flexicurve is that it can't do very small radius. I use a circles template like one of these http://www.timelytemplates.com/f_cir...circles_16.htm for those.
