I got orange.

i got the white with green stripes. friday night i think they came in stock at tower, ive been watching it for about 3 weeks and i placed my order and then saw it monday. havent flown too much though since its been rainy up here in North california.. just hovered a bit in my living room.
how bout you fly much yet?

haha no prob man.. so anyways, i flew it a little bit more tonight, the grass, slight wind maybe 5-7 mph and slight drizzle stopped me from flying any higher than 3 feet in the air.. everytime i lifted it was blowing in a direction. The factory claims that its factory flown and set.. i wasnt sure about that.. the pack that comes with the axe isnt that great.. its only 650 mah and weighs alot about 124 Grams while my TP 3S 1320 pack weighs in at 88 grams I used my 3S TP pack 1320 mah and it was a bit better. other than that this is pretty fun to fly.. i wish they would give a extra pair of blades or somethin.. that way us really new fliers can feel a bit more confident if we break some blades

I don't know if you have ever experienced the difference between a 380 brushed motor and a 430L BLDC. I have, and well, the 380's are ok, not exactly junk, but the BLDC's are new technology and more efficient. After 5 minutes of hover with my DF36, the 380 was way over the threshold of pain, where after hovering 5 minutes and flying 8 minutes, the 430L is only luke-warm, about 110 degrees. Very close to what my 650 mah Nimh's are just over peak charge. You get a pretty good power gain and longer flight time.
The problem may be matching the k/v if you are using the stock transmitter. I figure Helimax will have a match for it sometime. They better figure it out before the aftermarket people get their biz.

ya, i posted a thread asking if anyone knows about a good BL motor for the axe.. the response i got was a link to how to post threads.. hahaha put it in the wrong section.. couldnt they have just moved it?..

I just hovered around and after noticed of some weird controls i inspected the Axe, front servo is broken.. Wow these servo gears are cheap!!!
the motor is moviing around but the gears arent.. emailed tower and helimax see how well they will handle this..

time being i replaced it with a hitec 55 servo.. looks identicle but at least the hitec one wont break as easily..

update, wow helimax which is hobbico repair center replied quick said a new servo is on its way!! THAT is GREAT Customer service!!

Get that sucker up in the air and snap some photos for us. Can't wait to see 'em. Mines gonna be here next week.

Got mine in today. Charged her up and headed out for my first Heli flight. Seems everything is adjusted correctly. Trims seem to be just about right. I didn't hover very high, cause its my first flight, ever. It stayed tail in with out much correction needed. As far as using collective, I'll need more practice, but at least I didn't flip it and break anything. Should be a great Heli to learn on.

The flight lasted about 10 minutes then started losing power. Battery was a little warm after. Wish I had about 5 more batteries!

Dayum, I only get about 7 minutes or so on my HB King but i'm running a 4k kv motor

10 mins might be stretching it, i think ive been getting around 7ish mins.
i trid to set my camera on the timer but missed haha, anyways cant hover too high in my living room, have a lcd tv and stuff around i dont wanna break.

Looks like you've replaced the Micro Deans connector to Deans Ultra and went with a ThunderPower Batt. What size is the Battery? How do you know when its time to stop flying. Discharging below 3 volts per cell can cause an imbalance. Do you have a li-po cut-off adapter? I think I will go with 1320 TP's, but can't locate a good lipo adapter yet. Wish we could change batteries without removing Canopy.

Any info would be great.

looks like a 1320mah battery, and I always powerdown when I notice a decrease in power
