Yep, life is tenuous, fragile and scary. My boss of the last few months works in New York, he lost six employees and a dozen or so friends last September eleven; my colleague here was schedule for a ten-thirty meeting in the ninty-something floor of one of the towers, had it been nine-thirty he might not be here today, he was on approach at La Guardia when the plane was diverted back to National here in DC, and coming into National the Pentagon was hit so he was routed out to Baltimore - all the while not really understanding what was happening. So many stories...
I moved from the Bay Area, CA to DC two years ago and love it here. I worked up north for six months, flying into and out of La Guardia once a week, the attached is from one such flight. I would always grab a window seat and just sit and stare, flying from DC to New York is just wonderful; just flying is great, even if one never leaves the ground...
Yes, life is delicate and fragile, to be savored and cherished, and protected and guarded, we shall not forget...
