Little screamers powred alfa F-86

hey guys, dont flame me, but i while i was waiting for the jet scream, i decided to put the experimental little screamers super park jet, a double stator 2800 kv motor in th back. i know i know. but if you saw it fly in person, it woldnt bother you one bit. this thing really rips, and represents the real speed and flying habits of the real sabre. hats off to alfa for making a beautiful model, that flys so smooth, with no bad habbits. it weighs 18oz, and im using a 2100 3s, fling on a 6x5.5 apc prop. my guestimated speed would be between 100-105 mph. the vetical is awsome! i think the super pj found its new home. looks like im going to need another sabre for the jet scream! enjoy the vids...

I already have the same F-86 with the ducted fan. I am going to convert mine. How much does the motor you used weigh? Did you need to add a lot of weight to the front?

motor weighs 1.1oz plus adapter/prop. had to add 1oz of nose weight, but could use some re-inforcement instead. it really flies well, but i looked faster than that. either way it was a blast

ps..thanks eric!!!!!!!

Hi Brent,

Your welcome, it was cooking. If you add in the programs tolerance of +-4mph it was over 100mph. The variance comes from the width of the lines on the screen of the program. It is close enough for me and what I have used it for.

Merry Christmas,

Eric B.

CN,

Did you just add a Depron motor mount like a typical Steve Shumate parkjet? How well do you think the regular LSPJ would do on this bird?

was tempted to use the regular pj..then thought..nah! on a regular pj, it would still probably be faster than the edf version, but not by much. on the regular pj, your limitied to 5.5x4.5-6x4 as the max prop. im running a 6x5.5 and it really makes some good thrust/pitch speed. as this was the same power setup/prop that my skyray did 112mph on. i think ive got some more to go with the sabre, im going to make a scale nose, which obviously will have a much smaller opening, and im also going to get rid of the tail pipe inside, its in there to hold the pushrods in, but im going to take it out and glue them to the skin. you know theres alot of back pressure and drag inside the fuse when the canopy pops off in flight...a few times! had to start taping it down. so i think i can squeeze another 5-10 mph with that and a couple other things, i can also try a 5.25x6.25 prop, and see what that does. i think i can hit 110mph with it, whicjh is where aileron flutter hits these little F-86's pretty bad i hear. yeah, its just a depron horizontal wall, and vertical wall, glued to the fuse side(kinda wedged in) with a stick in the middle pretty simple..the vertical is amasing on this set up. you should have seen it on the 7x5 prop!!!!!!! no video with that prop though maybe next time!
