I'm just getting into this discussion and have read through it. Maybe I missed it here or on the plans, but what is the set up as far as motor, gearbox, gearing, prop, actuators, other electronics, and battery.

my 24" version of the Pitts S1 has been completed, here are the finished pic's, this plane has fully constructed wings (spruce spar & foam ribs) and fuselage from foam. it's powered by a Park 300 Outrunner, 3S LiPo, 8x4 prop, and full house control.

I haven't flown the 24" yet, it weights in at 12.5 oz AUW, the attached pics are the other two I have built, the black on white is a 20" version, it originally had the Park 300 outrunner but was alot to handle, too much power for the size, it weighed 8 oz, the black on yellow is a 30" version I built for my son (23), it has a Park 400 BL with an E-Flite 6.6:1 gbx, 12x6 prop, it's incredible! very nice flying plane, it weights in a 20 oz AUW. for your 27" I would recommend a Park 370 BL in the E-Flite 6.6:1 or 5.33:1 gbx, with a 10x6 prop and 3S LiPo, Kokam 3S 910 is great for an airplane of this size.

here are the final pics of the 24" Pitts S1, Woodstock took control of this aircraft! attempted to maiden over the weekend during breaks in the stormy weather, twice as soon as it would climb out it snaped over on it's back and nosed in, not high enough to do any damage, obvious c.g problem, I added an oz of weight to the nose to move the c.g. forward, ready for another attempt as soon as the weather cooperates.

I just cut a small peice of rubberband CAed in the slot. I don't know how it compares weight wise since my scale is in units of 10 grams. I now have the plane painted (messed up on the paint job though) and I'm waiting for micro gear to arrive.

will this motor be powerfull enough?

5 grams each? Actuators for the micro Pitts normally weigh 1 gram, and we whine about that!
