I'm planning to go mhills51's route also (the T-Rex 450SA). I have no interest in going through a progression of helis and would like to get something that will handle anything I'm ever likely to throw at it. The T-Rex appears to fit the bill.

I took a bit off different route. I wanted a small single rotor that I could fly in my living room fairly well without risking living room objects so I got a Walkera 64#c & then a Gaui EP 100 pro.

Both have 13.5" rotor dia.

Then I went & got a couple of 450 size heli's. The first for learning & practice was a CL450 Blue. Then just a few weeks ago I got an Align 450 seV2 that still needs to be finished with electronics.

My intention with the CX2 was to fly it indoors, but the only place I have a large enough open area is in the garage, which is not air conditioned. It'll be OK in the fall through spring months, but definitely not in the summer (although we've barely broken 90 degrees, which is unusually cool for this time of year). Luckily, the evenings have been pretty mild and calm, so I've gotten in a little outdoor flying.

I'd definitely never be able to fly any sort of serious single rotor heli in my house, so I might as well get something I can fly in a breeze outdoors.

And you would want to keep your cx2 something to do during the winter and in my case you can have something to fly while waiting for parts for your t-rex. Need a new gyro but can't spare the cash right now

Sorry mhills I misread your post earlier.

I too am not a fan of the blue and have gone with the gunmetal gray head and tail parts.

I have heard that Easy Off oven cleaner will remove the blue anodizing, but have not tried it. If you try and it works lemme know

And Bum, I think you will find as your flying skills increase you will need less space to fly.

Matt

Nope, the CX2 has a DSM 2 RX in the 4 in 1, and the DX6 is DSM1. It is not compatible. You can however bind a DX7 to it.

Going to upgrade to FP

Help! - BCX2 4n1 in an EF Saber

Need some knowledge. I have a CX 2 with the new 4-1 control unit and I have a EF Saber that has the control unit that is blown. (now I know why I got it for free.) Would the 4-1 work on the Saber as a replacement/upgrade? IF so, where would the connections go. The ef saber control unit just has Motor, Tail, Batt connections on one side and the other has F/B, LB

I was told you can't bind the BCX2 to a Dx6. Is this true?
