Jason, (mister I don't want to share), flew his on the weekend.

He says that it flew nicely. He waited until late when the wind abated to what he estimated was 7 knots.

All he needed was a couple of clicks of rudder and it was fine. Ailerons not too responsive and needed the rudder for coordinated turns. It wasn't a speed demon by any means but he didn't fly it in a fast manner, nor were the conditions suitable for hooning.

Says it's not as nice as his Multiplex ASW-27. And it probably shouldn't be at around 1/5th of the price.

He thinks it is a good light(ish) wind, relaxing semi-scale model.

Looks sweet! I like the look of this one a lot more than the DG 1000. I'm thinking this would be a great home for my 2820 if I ever crash my Micro Flash . Always gotta have a plan B !

G'day,

Boy is it difficult to get time to do some modelling at the moment. I'm still playing nursemaid to my 2 y.o. after his surgery last week. Then when there is a free moment there are a billion christmas decorations to put up, a huge tree to do and external lighting to hook up (no, nowhere near as bad as the Griswolds).

All this and building for Camperdown in around 6 weeks.

Having said that, I managed to do a little more after the kids went to bed and before they woke.

I used a Hitec HS-225MG for the rudder and similar to the DG-1000, a HS-56 for the elevator.

Glenn

The only difficulty encountered so far was routing the elevator wire down the fin & fuselage. Getting past the internal bracing & bulkhead proved impossible with just the wire and even when weighted using a lead fishing sinker. I ended up sacrificing a yellow nyrod inner, bending a sharp angle for the last one inch and forming the next 4 inches or so into a gentle curve.
