Build Log
CMPro Discus CS 2.652m

OK. Not so much a build log as a shake and bake.

Guess what got to Roj's today? I was there for other goods and just asked if it was in yet. Luckily I did because he had forgotten to put it aside as I had asked a few weeks ago.

And sorry Gunna, it's the only one delivered to him

Apparently M.E. are out too, so you'll have to try other shops.

A few details:
  • $185AUD A bargain!
  • 2652 mm span
  • 1153 mm long
  • 1100-1200 g weight
  • Hx 83-Nase 3 modify ??
  • 32 dm area
  • 34-37.5 g/dm2

And now on the inside of the box:
  • a bag with sticker sheet, instruction sheet and a CMPro catalogue
  • a nice fibreglass fuselage with stickers applied
  • Vacuum formed canopy floor with instrument 'mushroom' (sorry, I've been visiting too many german scale model sites)
  • Blue tinted canopy with white trim pre-applied
  • Wooden wings with wrinkle-free covering. Yipee

It is, without doubt, made by the same peopleas the Aero-Fever DG-1000. Even the instruction sheet is exactly the same style being an overallisometric diagram with a few details sketches surrounding the main piccy.

Noted improvements over the DG:
  • proper cable pull-pull system included for the rudder
  • canopy has a proper latch at the rear (with slot precut in fuselage)
  • wing retention method (4 off Allen screws secured to the incidence rods)
  • did I mention the wrinkle free covering

Ross,

Only the Discus in scale.

Roj said M.E. was out of stock - only a couple of days after it came in. He says to check other stores.

Make it a cold shower.

And according to you it's not a build - real builders like you stick bits of balsa together, not just put gear in ARF's.
