Bush will "open the gates of Hell" in Iraq.

CNN is reporting:

A U.S. war against Iraq would "open the gates of hell" in the Middle East, Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa said on Thursday.

Does this remind anyone of Saddam Hussein's warnings of "The Mother of all Battles"?

I was there the first time, and even though I'm 34 and have a bum leg now, I'll go again.

Go get 'em, Dubya!

The obvious difference is that it is not Saddam who is saying it. It is many of the friendly arab leaders. I have read many items stating that it is not really about Saddam. The explosive nature of the middle east is well known by this admin. and they are not stupid. They however see real danger in saudi arabia and want massive presence in the area if and when the royal family fall so we can step in and impose order. Our order. It makes more sense than Bush grudge or honest accessment that Saddam is satan. This logic makes particular sense in light of recent noise of trouble in our dealings with Saudis and their asking us to pack up our presence. I think that we need to start talking about less dependence on oil as soon as posible. In this assessment the real stupidity is this admins refusal to even talk about conservation or alternates. They are oil men thru and thru. They wil risk all for the crude. It is the most important cash flow they know. Its time to stop talking about doing it for Israel or to end burkas or any other such rubbish and say whats real. We're big boys and girls.

Russia has plenty of oil, and they need cash. Our cash. And we both know it.

Oil isn't the issue.

Gman2, you are right. The USA is too dependant on Middle Eastern oil.

Canada has tons of oil, it will just cost a little more to get it out.

Stealth?

I guess 88 of those hundred planes were very stealthy. CNN reports that it was actually twelve planes.
Where did you get your numbers?

Insane is a strong word. I think Doofus is more appropriate.

If you took the time to read a little further you find that these same strikes have been happening there for years..it is called Operation Southern Watch and Operation Northern Watch. The Southern Watch aircraft did this particular strike.

In fact, there were 8 strikes during August alone:

These aircraft fly out of Prince Sultan Air Base, along with air bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. They have the support of the Saudi's.

The "doves" are still out there. Aren't they the same people who complained that the U.S. didn't act against bin Laden before 9/11 ???

I say act, not re-act.

Give'm hell (since the gates will already be open for them), GW.
