The obvious difference is that it is not Saddam who is saying it. It is many of the friendly arab leaders. I have read many items stating that it is not really about Saddam. The explosive nature of the middle east is well known by this admin. and they are not stupid. They however see real danger in saudi arabia and want massive presence in the area if and when the royal family fall so we can step in and impose order. Our order. It makes more sense than Bush grudge or honest accessment that Saddam is satan. This logic makes particular sense in light of recent noise of trouble in our dealings with Saudis and their asking us to pack up our presence. I think that we need to start talking about less dependence on oil as soon as posible. In this assessment the real stupidity is this admins refusal to even talk about conservation or alternates. They are oil men thru and thru. They wil risk all for the crude. It is the most important cash flow they know. Its time to stop talking about doing it for Israel or to end burkas or any other such rubbish and say whats real. We're big boys and girls.
