Windex - A Plane For Your Consideration

This is my 95" wingspan WINDEX
PHX 60 , I think.

It reminded me of the CC logo ( OK, It's not exactly the same plane, but close enough fro me )

Thanks to the Joe at CC for some graphics and also to the web-page that has logo files to down load.
Should be getting the lettering later today and hope to get them applied to the plane this week. Will have photos of the finished plane later.

Well the maiden went good for about 2 mins
Launched into the wind and flew up to about 200' and glided around.
It sure is a big bird compared to most of the stuff I fly.
Looked very majestic
With the elev right behind the prop it really makes a difference in control when the motor is on then when it's off.
Long story short, could not pull up enough to keep it from nosing in.
Bent the wing-rod and cracked the fuselage right below the prop.
Will need some glass repair and maybe some nice trim tape to cover the crack.
It will fly again
Photos Later

Bummer, such a cool plane. Good luck on mending the cracks!

BTW, is that one of my old Avionik D-99's? I sold a few off over the years after World Champs and that has what looks like an FAI sticker on the fuz.

Keen eye brother Troy.
Yep it your D-99.
I flew it quite a bit last summer till I dorked it into the dirt.
Fuz is crumpled around the nose but the wing is in good shape.
But I picked up a another D-99 with a spare fuz to give me 2 planes.

I got the plane striped down to the bare essentials.
The break is not all the way through.
I CA'd the crack back together to stabilize it and went looking for some glass.

This is what I have in stock
Some real light stuff that I did not even pull out, some 2oz woven, some very heavy woven and some heavy non-woven mat.

The 2oz would be OK if I can get multi-layers but I have a very small space to work with and don't want to spend a lot of time on it. So I'm going with the non-woven mat.
Will wet the mat with 30 epoxy and roll it up and slide it down the fuselage.

Easy .

I was admiring your hangar collection (green with envy ) and the sticker caught my eye. Then a dim light bulb popped in my memory...Larry, yah I think that was him.

It's a done deal.
What a mess, but it worked out that the non-woven mat worked pretty good.

Might have to add some more lead in the nose after all this.
