Does CV work with Parallels again? It became to slow around the time of your last major release. I have a MBP which has a relatively speedy nvidia gpu, so I doubt it is my hardware.

Can you tell me what release worked well and what release runs slower. Please provide frame rate for Raptor 60 no smoke with sound off in both cases, so I have refference point.

Two nice videos by NightFlyyer on YouTube:

ClearView review:
ClearView Flight Simulator. Special Edition Program . (20 min 42 sec)

Training video with ClearView:
NightFlyyer's RC Helicopter Practice Program, short version. (10 min 55 sec)

Check his other videos, be warned, may stay glued to the monitor for hours...

Do you have a list of old versions that I can download to test? I cannot remember when it was of hand. I am guessing it was 4.9 ish.

There are 509 older versions =)

If it was 4.9 this was before the last major model physics upgrade. It will take stronger computer to run any version starting from 5.00 As the flight model evolves, the computer requirements over time go up. However, it still takes relativelly modest computer to run ClearView well.

Hi All, when deciding on whether I would actually use a sim program I burned up my Optic 6. The repair was relatively inexpensive, and was caused by not having my antenna fully extended. Since Clearview is almost certainly what I willbuy, here is my question. I have recently purchased a DX7, what do I need to do to be able to use it on the computer without damaging it?

Thanks, Tim

Either remove the crystal or module when using the sim. This disables the RF output section which is what gets hot when the antenna is collapsed. It will also eat batteries at a much slower rate with the RF disabled.

With the DX7, the output is disabled when plugging a cable into the trainer jack. This must be done with power OFF.

Select the SIM program in the radio, turn it off, then plug in the cable without turning the power back on.

The radio will come on with no RF output when a cable is sensed.

Chase view is great!

I like using chase view to fly planes under the car starting gate.

I haven't upgraded since 4.98 and I like how some of the planes fly now. Several of them really fall out of the sky in a stall rather than just float along.

I know my son (7) will love the car sim. When it comes to planes, he just crashes them to see the pieces fly off.

Thanks for the update,

Joe

I guess I should mention that you need to set up a separate model in the TX memory dedicated to the sim. You can't use a CP helicopter program.

Set up a model and call it SIM, or whatever. Use ACRO, not HELI. Leave everything default. All WING TYPE set to OFF, and all trims, subtrims, dual rates, expo, set to center or default or 100/100, whatever. All programmable mixes should be off or INH.

Use this model in the TX when using the sim.

For the chase view - will it work with any other fields other than the car fields?
If so, which ones?
Thanks
Terry

The chase view works with "pure" 3d fields or with the new generation 3d/PhotoReal fields like the 3 car track fields in version 5.10
To enable the chase view on older 3d fields (like fields created by Luke) you must add this parameter in landscape-params.txt:
landscapeStyle 1.0 // 0-photoreal, 1-3d

Thank You. That is what I need to know. This does bring up the obvious problem. What I am flying is not what I am flying.

But I guess the software solves that.

Thanks again,
