echoplanar, what was your total build time with this plane? Just wondering. You have really got me thinking about this one now. I just need to buy a motor and plane. I'm very curious about a flight report and how the wheels will or will not handle a grass surface. My club feild is basically a sod field, but I can always fly it else where. Thanks for your time.

What is a good prop to use with the recommended motor and esc? I will be using a 3-cell 1320mah pack.

Thanks,
Tony

I can't take credit for the pilot as the one I am using is an off the shelf pre-painted type! I will say it does fit well and looks good once you give him a little boost up.

I will be using an APC 10x4.7 slowfly prop-same as on the SE5a.

Dora Nine-total build time was about 8-9 hours. I got it I started Friday at 7:30 pm and finished last night 10:30 pm. But I am sure others will build it much faster.

I think this plane just looks alot sharper than the SE5a they just put out. Maybe it's the design, maybe it's the red covering, maybe it's just me.

I walked into the shop this morning and just had to say wow. Certain models give you that feeling after you clean off the workbench and set the finished plane on top of it-especially the next morning when you are more awake!

Here are a few outside shots of the model.

The wheels are probably big enough to handle some grass but speaking from experience the landing gear wing on the DVII, DR1 and other Fokkers can trip them up.
That is a good looking bird Jon, well done build log too, cheers.
What has the CG turned out like with your battery ?

Ithink this could well be the first kit I bring in from the U.S. Does crashing a covered wood plane and the resulting repair worry you like it does me?

Steve,

The cg looks to be right on the money wit the 1320 pack. I think I have it about center in the compartment. There is also a little bit of room to move it around. I will check it again before the first flight.

Weather looks good so far.

Sounds like a well planned kit, good luck with the maiden. We'll be waiting for the report.

Steve,
The repairs to a wood covered plane are easy. A little ca here and there, maybe splice in a piece of balsa, iron on a patch over the area and done. Besides ...Who crashes? lol.

Steve,
If there's any way I can help you to get one of these let me know. I mean if shipping would be cheaper for me then from a online store or if the online store won't ship to you etc. Look into it and let me know. And I would get 10-20% off the advertised $89.99 . Depending what kind of mood they are in at the LHS that day. I got 15% off the S.E.-5a.
