My Weigh i500 scales

here is the scale I use. Cost is about $60

you can buy a 500g calibration weight. Photo shows them in action weighing a 1/2g wheel!

http://www.myweigh.com/scales/medium...-500-1200-2600

and here is a place to purchase it.

http://www.saveonscales.com/product_mw_i500_i1200.html

I recommend getting the 500g calibration weight just to keep it honest.

0.01g won't come cheap and probably is not necessary for F3P.

I use a DIPSE 600 XL (600g max. and 0.1g resolution):

Take your pick, most will measure .01g but only go up to about 100g

Yes, this budget scale is reputed to be very accurate. Here it is: HF Scale

Lots of RC'ers love this scale. For the money spent it may be hard to beat this value. Best of all, it goes on sale at times for $9.99.

Here is the link Jurgen Heilig sent me for the Helix:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=11

and here is one for the Manta 3

http://www.mamo-modelltechnik.com/mo...or/indoor-f3p/

They are overseas links, and in german, good luck.

I have ordered from Mamo models, and all emails were in english, they are a great company to work with.

Maybe Jurgen can help us with other companies that might have these models for sale.

Thanks aerolite. I purchased my Manta V1 from Mamo Models, and I had checked their site, but they don't have any pics of the Manta V3.

I don't like my Manta near as well as my Click, but I'm not a very good pilot, so my opinion isn't worth much

lipo

Hi!

Has anyone tried to compare TP 250mah 2s LiPo versus Hyperion G3 240mah 2s Lipo? I am wondering from which one can you pull more amps?

Thank you,
Alan

What's your budget?

The flying weight of 130g to 150g is a bit high for the size of the plane but that might be partly due to the motor they expect you to use. The suggested motor is "2404 brushless outrunner". There's no brand etc mentioned but if that refers to the motor stator diameter and length as is usual then that's a bit big for my taste. I'd suggest trying to keep the weight to 130g or less by careful use of adhesives, trimming ESC and battery cables and choosing light a motor, battery, RX, ESC and servos.

Unlike a few years ago, there are lots of motor options now. The Hacker A10-15s is a very popular motor (weighs about 15g). I use them on planes between about 115g and 135g. I'd use that with a GWS 8x4.3 or similar and 2s lipos between 250mAh and 350mAh (12g to 21g).
There's a budget motor that seems to work pretty well which originally turned up as the Suppo 2204-14 (weighs about 21g) from www.lightflightrc.com. I think this is now available by several names as it's been re-badged by Turnigy, Grayson and others. There's lot's of other budget motors but I don't know much about them. I think it's worth getting the Hacker or a similar decent motor but that's just me. For F3P flying you'll want a motor in the 12g to 20g weight range. For Aero musical flying you may want a bit more power at the expense of higher minimum speed so a 20g to 25g motor might be the way to go.
