.40-size pattern plane power
Looking for a recommendation on a motor for a pattern plane.
I have a kit that I plan on flying with 6S2P with a weight of about 5.5-6lbs. I would like to know if the 1509-1Y+6.7PG with a would be ideal. 14x10 prop, Castle Phoenix 80 controller.
EZ-Calc says max 72 amps, 1176 watts in, 94.1% efficiency, and 57,900 motor rpm. I'm concerned that the max RPM might be a little high.
I'm trying to save some weight on the plane.
Will this work, or are there recommendations on a better motor?
