Converting a Cirrus SR22 by KMP

Link: http://www.kmp.ca/product_info.php?c...roducts_id=121
Hey guys,
First off, does anyone have any building/flying information this plane? Looks like a really nice plane, but I'm not able to find much online about it. Second, I would like to convert this plane to electric and so far it looks like it shouldn't be that hard.
Wing Span: 87.5"
Length: 68.4"
Flying Weight: 13 lb
Wing area: 913 sq. in

I was looking at the AXI's and 5320's seem to be a good choice. The trick is that this plane is suppose to have a 3 bladed prop. But because I have no idea what is the prop size, I cant say if the motor is the right choice.
Any bits of info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Keith.

You need to figure out what prop clearance there is.

A 2 blade will give the best performance

I woul only go 3 blade if you have to for scale appearance or because prop clearance is so low.

seems like an 18x10e 2 blade would work. good prop for a 5320/28

you will be experimenting with 3 blades! hope they are not to expensive.

Graupner makes them I think.

Hey, if a 2 blade will work, that's fine with me.
Thanks for the response, are you the owner/employee of KMP?

No, my initials are coincidence.

But i have flown 12 lb plane electric with 5320/28
and with 5330/f3a both on 10s batteries.

I think 5320/28 will give excellent scale performance and then some

If there is room for 18x10e 5320/28 on 10s 3700s will be 2,100 to 2,500 watts.

good pitch speed too.

Plenty for a 13 lb plane sport performance.

also there is a hyperion outrunner z4045/14 or one of the z50s that will fly it well too.

battery access is always an issue, it would be nice to see the instructions but they are not posted yet.

Its fun but risky to do the first conversion/build on this type of plane.

you have to figure it all out yourself.

These days at least motor mounting is easy

battery access and getting the Center of gravity right is the hardest.

Mattching the motor to the plane isnt that tough anymore

Plenty of motors out there will fly it.

Kevin

Thanks! 10s1p 3700's? The cost of the batteries needed is probably the only thing some attempting. I'd buy the kit, then look at the battery room situation.
thanks.
