Motors are medusa 27 32 3400 gearbox GD600 3.8 ratio Props are Propshop scale style 2" dia x2.2 pitch . She realy comes out of the hole hard If you look at the wake you can see how she jumps then settles down to the buisness of accelerating .

Nice boat...really fast. Question. Do you have to have a special esc. or batteries with a brushless motor?What kind of batteries do you use and what kind of runtimes do you get from them??Thanks for sharing the pics.

yes you need a special esc(properly called a motor controler) and depending on which type of motor(sensored/nonsensored) you may need one mc per motor(sensored motors can run 2 or more on a mc)
batteries;
depends on the amp draw as to which batts to use... the high amp draw folks are using Nimh cells(3.6 ah and up) or Li-po's. run times vary(with my boat 2 min maybe) so I'll let the author of this thread answer that question

Thanks Tim glad you like it . The speed controls are Castle Creations Mamba 25 car controls , I use a pair .Batteries are a pair of 3s 2100 lipo's The motors draw 20 amps each in my wheelbarrow filled with water They are on a Y harness now but I can do seperate foreward , reverse . I modefied a radio box to be two throttles(tower was helpfull) sending me the little clicker thing to put in my TX on the elevator chanel . That RX took one bath too many so dual stick later
It runs an easy 20 minutes on a charge .

I have been tempted several times to buy this kit. I like the looks of it and find the style appealing. I am glad to see someone build this boat and make somthing out of it. You did a good job I like the color of the hull.

Who knows maybe I will get one for Christmas? There is always hope. I do keep watching them on e bay but forget and don't keep a vigil on the auction.
Dumas also has them as discounted I think.

I got this one off ebay a couple of years ago .

I also want to mention I took it out in LongIsland Sound in the afternoon 2+ foot chop . I was slicing and dicing and running off the tops of waves . The rangers at Sherwood Island were telling one of the flyers how cool it was
