Thank you for the help. I was going to use a small tower pro out runner with a 3 cell and turning a 8 by 4 HD prop. I also was going to mount the motor using a carbon rod and cut the wing to make it as close to the cord line as possible. Thanks again I will post some pics when I get it done. I am using your suggested modifications to the wild wing and I am very excited to get her in the air. I will be helping my wife build her own once I figure out if it will fit her building and flying skills/desire.

That's a Stryker Boomer.The side scoops are sanded off as well as anything else that could reduce the weight or drag.
The nose is just sanded a bit.
I set up a Stryker-Lite with a Esskay motor and this Stryker-Cat with a 24gram outrunner. They both weigh about the same.
The Stryker-Cat flys a whole lot smoother than the Stryker-Lite.
And as a 10.5oz plane, it will fly in 20mph wind no problems and slow way down, plus go vertical! Not so bad for a second plane or aileron trainer. A lot less sensitive than a Flying Wing, with the benifits of windy day flying. Butch

One of the guys I fly with took a video of the outrunner Boomer, on a windy day.
It was windy and cloudy, but it will give you a idea of how well it flys in the wind and how slow and aerobatic it flys. Butch

I think we may have a Stryker-Cat Boomer video soon as well.
The Stryker is a bit larger, but does real well in the wind and at 10.5 ozs, and it floats real well.
The primary difference in the Wild-Cat and the Stryker-Cat besides the weight/size, is the foam. The Epp will take a lot more abuse than the hi-bred foam on the Stryker. Butch

Great video!! I am very impressed with it handling the wind, slow flight characteristics, and being acrobatic-just like you siad. The next video would be nice if you showed it flying slow, like in you street, and it flying fast. Great job

So what are you using in the RTF Boomers?

Butch, clear up my confusion please!! The stryker boomer has the 2g blue motor and is the better one in the wind, AND will slow down well too???? Am I reading your comments correctly?? If so I need to get a stryker body

The Stryker Boomer flys very well. The airfoil is a faster one than the WildWing, so it cuts the wind a bit better. Its cheap like the WW, but the foam dosen't hold up in a crash as well as the WW( pics later).
Also it weighs more so it takes more power to fly, but it has more wing area so it still floats nice, but not quite as good as the WW Boomer.
I want to do a compairason between the Boomers and Stryker-Lite, but the wind has been steady and when it calms, I'm usually too busy.

The RTF's are built per order. Some with rx, batts and test flown, some Rx ready, with the tails and ailerons out of EPP Depron and or balsa or a combo of all thee and some just partly built. Butch

Paul, the motor is the 24gram 1300kv motor that UnitedHobbies sells. I use either there cheap/light ESC or a Castle Phoenix 10a. On a 8060 prop it pulls 7+ amps, but I sometimes run a cut down 9070, which draws almost 10 amps, but use the extra power in bursts. So far it works good.
On the 8060 prop I use a TP 730mah, 3 cell, as well as a generic 700mah 3 cell 20C and the TP 910mah 3 cell. Mostly trying to keep the weight down. On the cutdown 9070, I use a 910mah 3 cell or better. A 1320mah 3 cell would be ok if you wern't worried about going real slow. Butch

I am looking for something that can fly in tight spaces, handle wind and is durable, so a Boomer looks quite interesting.

I am wondering if somebody has tried putting an (inverted) V-tail
(like on a Poly Pusher: http://www.acesim.com/rc/polly/polly.html)
on a Wild Wing Boomer?

Having both an elevator and a rudder effectively in the prop wash
might enable some really tight turns at very low speeds.

I have seen some interest in a source of black EPP on this thread.
For those who do not already know, one possible source is:

Thanks for the info, but I've got 2 big boxes full of EPP sheet, both colors, from Slofly.com. and several of his other planes and wings.
What I'd like to find is some 1LB EPP or less. I have some small white pieces, but thats it.
The 1LB EPP would be better for beginners Boomer fuselage's, because they'd bounce better. Butch
