Name That Plane!

Here's a little game I like to play called, "Name That Plane!" Buddy6 and Gerald are unable to play since they already know what it is.

Yep, that framework is quite familiar to me.

Before I crashed mine I happened to be at the Guillow's factory and luckily picked up a spare vacuum formed cowl and cabin for it. This time I have made a plaster cast of those parts so I'll be able to make as many replacements as I need.

I was just out flying my Guillow's PT-17 Stearman today. It's been hanging from the ceiling for a couple years now without being flown. I decided to change out the power system last week for a direct drive speed 400. It now has enough weight in the nose with the 400 to finally get it to balance correctly. And I get to use that cool scale looking Graupner JU52 prop. It flew better than it ever had before, actually pretty smooth and stable and with enough power to loop and fly around at half throttle. All up weight somehow came to less than with the geared 280BB, probably because I was able to remove the 1/2oz of lead and heavy 1oz pair of wheels that I had added to try to get the CG correct before.

This is getting me finally back in the mood to fix the Skyhawk. It's also been sitting in pieces for a couple years. Needs the front of the fuselage reconstructed. It would be kind of nostalgic to see it fly again.

You should go ahead and build yours to fly. Good luck on it and keep us posted.

Here's the wing! Just have to shape the LE of one wing side.

Specs

Wingspan: 36 in.
Tip Cord: 3.5 in.
Root Cord: 5.5 in.
Weight. 1.2 oz. (no ailerons)

Fuse Weight: 0.8 oz

You did much better on your airframe weight than I did! Mine weighs, without receiver, motor, servos, batteries, or anything other than wood and covering (tissue) as much as my MM Cessna weighs WITH all that junk thrown in, minus batteries.

Got it, but then the early voters didn't have the wing to look at.
