Well,
Than you add:
Hacker B50 13S+6.7:1 GB = 255 gm
Aero-Model Mount = 85 gm
Hacker 70-3P Controller = 52 gm
Futaba R127DF receiver = 40 gm
(4) Futaba S3102 servos =100 gm
Graupner prop adapter
and spinner = 25 gm
APC 15x10 "E" prop = 38 gm
16 Panasonic HV 3000's = 960 gm
UBEC = 20 gm
===========
1575 gm

3.47 lbs or 55.5 oz

Add the airframe weight supplied by Black96Z above and you have 97.6 oz total. By the time you add glue and a battery retaining system 102-105 oz AUW seems about right.

spinner is included in the first weight.... plus I think you could shave an ounce off that motor weight. I don;t think that at 100 ox you would tell a diffrance between a few oz. though.

Sorry I missed the spinner @ 22 grams....so that's another .7 oz off.
You won't shave an ounce off the B50 13S+6.7:1 GB.....cause that's what it weighs. You might use another motor and save an ounce , but I doubt it would perform as well. You could definitely shave an ounce or two off the motor mount by using an Aero-Vee or fabricating something lighter.
So, 100 oz is doeable, but I agree ....don't think you could tell the difference +/- 3 oz. This is a GREAT flying airplane with this setup !

The Aero-Vee mount weighs practically the same as your Velkom mount (saves about 2 oz) but has the same problem.
I've been warned that these geared Hacker motors need to be mounted by the gearbox instead of leaving the gearbox unsupported. I am told that in the case of a hard prop strike or poor landing the gearbox can act as a lever and pull the pressed in endbell right out of the motor
As a result of those warnings (which seem reasonable to me) I'll be mounting mine by the gearbox in the future.

Hmmm, thanks for the advise. I think that I will make a mount monday at work then.

I'll try to keep it under 3 oz or so.

Venus Conversion

Well thats good to know that the Venus is that light. I wish my Extra was that light, but you know I never really took all the parts out of the box and weighed them!? I wonder if I could make it come in at less than 8 pounds? The Venus is cool but I just like Extras have ever since I saw a full scale one close up.

I have used the mount that you have in your pics and can tell you it definately would not work on that much power.

It flexes quite a bit....I would not use it on anything over 400 watts.

Here are my weights in grams using the same model Sunbeam scale. Most of the weights are very close. Mine list is 100 g heavier, but it includes some items I won't use (throttle pushrod, etc). It's nice to see the consistency.

Mine will be powered by a Mega 30/3, MEC 3:1 Superbox with a Castle Creations Pheonix 35 ESC with an Ultimate BEC providing receiver power.

Belly pan 24
Fuselage 347
Rudder 21
Fin 12
Left elevator 12
Right elevator 10
Stabilizer 45
Left aileron 22
Right aileron 15
Left wing 161
Right wing 167

Wheels 22
Landing gear 47
Bag of plastic 14
Bag of misc 61
