Me, my plane, and my field

Here I am with my T-Hawk. If you look closely at the wing portion next to my head you will see where a tree tried to take a bite.

Here is part of our pasture that I use for flying. The riding ring surrounded by light poles is my landing field.

I'd expect nothing less than a pretty place like that in Kentucky.

Here are the specs of the T-Hawk:
Specifications:
- Wingspan: 40"
- Wing Area: 217 sqin
- Length: 27"
- Flight Weight: 1lb 2oz
- Flight Battery: 7 Cell 600 mAh NiCd
- Charger: AC 110V 3.5 Hour Charge Time
- Radio: 3CH 27 MHz AM 1500' Min Range
- Flight Time: 10-15 minutes per NiCd battery
- Propulsion: 380 motor direct drive pusher
The third channel is on/off motor control. It comes with a spare wing, spare tail feathers and and extra battery. I REALLY enjoy flying it.

T-Hawk down

Last Thursday; just before my Windrider Bee arrived I took the T-Hawk out for a flight. I had epoxied a crack at the back of the wing where the prop had hit it that was about 1 inch long. All went well until I did a power dive from about 50 feet. At about 20 feet when I went to pull out the wing collapsed. The nose is accordioned, the piece of styrofoam behind the battery was knocked loose and the wing is now almost in two pieces. The plane will not fly and I cannot see how to get to the inside so I can try to figure out why. The engine runs, the controls respond but when I toss it it just goes to ground. Ordered a new fuselage which should be here by the end of the week. I will probably do surgery on the old fuselage and salvage parts. Pic is too depressing to show. Overall I am still pleased with the plane.
