After a few PM's for plans I finally got round to doing some so here they are:

Basic Spec :
Span = 30in
Fus = 30in
Wing area = 420sq in
RTF AUW = 9 - 13oz

Build it light for one of the latest super CDROMS or stick a 15 - 20 oz thrust motor on for stump pulling 3D.

The prototype was built in 9mm EPP and super simple slab sided build lets you enclose all your gear for some nice clean lines.

Plans are for either a double swept back wing (a la Ultimate) or a straight bottom wing / swept top if you fancy something a little more stable.

Big thanks to Steve from slofly.com for the unbreakable EPP foam, Dave (Timocharis ) for the motor advice ..and motors , Gene Bond for tiling the A4 plans and the rest of the RCG posters for ideas & inspiration !!

Si , the canopy is from a Dettol Multi-action 4 in 1 bottle (about £1.49 ) ,Its just the right size for 30" - 34" semi scale parkies, just wish they did it in a few different colours. I'm looking at making a similar shape plug mould soon so I can make a few more from plastic coke bottles, then get a nice smoke finish with food colouring or dylon.

Just had a rummage under the sink, and i've got a bottle of Dettol....
The one I have is 'pink grapefruit' though and the bottle is....err... pink! So they do do different colours. I wonder if stanordave would like it?

I just built an ultimate from FFF. and I LOVE IT! it flys beautifully. I have yet to link up the top ailerons though due to not having the materials/know how to do so. But mine is flying on an Eskay sk400xt motor, Mamba 25 esc, and a 2s 800mah lipo, along with 3 6.4gram servos. knife edges are so easy on this thing. I think a 3s would help me out a bit as i can only go verticle at full throtle and at the begining of the charged pack. but other then that its a keeper

I've printed the plans out and this cool Bipe is next for me. I got a bunch of SloperSteve's 9mm EPP and I've got enough 3D planes. I would like to build this one for Parkflyer / Aerobatics etc... I built the 4S Bipe and put the large GWS outrunner on it. It was very slow and fun, but needed so much bracing it was heavy. A full fuse plane is the way to go.
Also, Mr. Flash, has anyone ever put lite spackle on one of these then covered the individual completed components ..ie fuselage, wings, tailfeathers etc... or would this be too heavy? Looks like a great plan.

JBiker heres a close up of the aileron linkage, let me know if it dosnt make sence and ill talk ya through it, its just a bit of carbon rod, 2 bits of tube and 2 sewing pins per wing.


You can basically build this from anything , Ive got another bipe Ive just made thats skinned with 3mm epp for the fuse and 6mm for the wings. Came out at 8oz RTF (inc battery)

Reminds me of Stringflys old LUB...pretty cool.

Check out the "interfacing" method for making EPP wings rigid without carbon fiber in the flying wings section. I stole this method from them. I apply a watered down coating of Light Spackle which is like a wall paste that dries and sands smooth to repair holes or marks in walls, except with EPP, it fills in the tiny little dimples and sands to a smooth surface. You then lightly coat the sanded surface with Pu or in my case Gorilla Glue and spread it thin. It foams up, but you keep spreading it around. After it dries, you sand it smooth and it's so strong and smooth you can apply econokote or monokote. This makes it a little heavier, but very strong, and very smooth. The picture below is of Vinyl spackle and the stuff I use says Light Spackling on the jar. When you dip a foam paintbrush into some water then get some light spackle on the brush it almost has the consistency of whipped cream.. It's very light and dries hard but flexible enough.
