Night flight with a slow stick...

I've done a bit of searching on this but have yet to find an easy, elegant, off the shelf solution.

I do have light tape setup that I bought at science surplus, but it runs on two double a's. I'd like to tap into the battery that's already on the plane. Maybe turn in on and off via the tx if thats possible. Not necessary though.

Links or suggestions welcome,

Thanks,

Tom

Here are a couple of Websites that provide the lights. CurteK lights are what I have and I like them better than MPI light. Curteks have Landing light's you can turn off and on. MPI Light's are basic cheap and work well. I have used them both.

Great, Thanks Tom.

How was ordering from curtek, as I notice they are in canada?

Do you know of any products that are more like a light string?

Thanks again.

Did I read that right at curtek, the disclosure at the top says they are no longer filling orders?

Hi Tom, here's mine

http://imageevent.com/sipphoto/event...=0&w=4&s=0&z=3

That's a set of #3012 RC-Lights ($20 but they're out of stock I see)
http://www.rc-lights.com/products/pl...elis_boats.htm

And for the landing light a "Cyclops Atom" velcroed under the fuse tube

Make sure you drop your lights under the wing and tail, I let mine hang down about an inch. Otherwise they disappear when you turn.

have fun

I have the MPI set on my Slow Stick. The Curtek set is a lot nicer, but the MPI set is cheap and gets the job done. I put white lights on the landing gear shining up at the underside of the wing, another white light shining forward through the prop (makes the orange GWS props glow), another shining up under the tail and red blinkers out at each wingtip. The light set plugs into any spare port on the receiver. It comes with JST connectors at the light module, so you can rig it up to where the wing unplugs easily for removal.

Hehe i just made this 2 days ago.

I'm good enough to fly by the LCD of my camera. You'll notice near the end there i'm using 2 light patterns (a shopping mall, and a school) as fly between points.

I use the MPI system. I think my method is different than what others use though... I use scotch tape (see through kind) and have a light at each corner of the wing. They extend beyond the wing edge (my reasoning for this is that at least 2 lights would be visable at all times this way) 2 of them are white, and are at the front of the wing, while 2 are at the back, red on right side, green on left.

I do use one blinker. I took a jumbo LED and stuffed it in the back tube.
