Hah, Finally, after many years of telling myself that I would make a mold of my Harrier(which was a lost foam deal), I finally came around to starting a plug this week. Rob (av8soulfly)and I had always said "we need to make a mold of our harriers" but never got to it....our lost foam version fly so good that we knew what wing to use, were the CG is, etc. So after talking with some guys at Fermin...RIP(Vic), slopeiron(Russ), and Rob(av8soulfly), I got the idea of buying a $12 Hasagawa 1:72 scale of the plane and cuting the fuse in different sections; about 11 to be exact.
1. I traced the side profile of the model and marked & numbered where each section would be cut and placed.
2. Then I started hacking the poor little plastic model
3. And then I traced each section and numbered them.
4. Now I took the paper and scaned it in my computer and blew it up 415% in Photoshop
5. Printed and cut and placed on plywood
6 I made two proflile view for both left and right
7 Cut the plywood and glued each section on to the profile view.
8 Got blue foam and placed in between each section
9 got my hot wire cutter and started cutting around the section
10 then of course sanding..
I hope I made sense, if not here are some pictures of what I have so far...
I'll try to keep posting as I progress.
