Proposed 1 October 2006 Around The World In RC AP

It is almost 1 October 2006, first day of the quarter. Last time around, 1 July 2006, there were some very nice pics, and no unnecessary risks taken with the expanded rules.

Since we have taken the poll: In total 17 votes with 1 vote for annual, 2 votes for semi-annually, all other for quarterly of which only 1 in favour of only the first day of the month. Whether it then should be first weekend of the month or first 4 days of the month is a very close tie (6 for weekend, 7 for first 4 days), with of course 1 vote of mine included for first 4 days.

My conclusion at the time: Maybe we can have it both ways on that close call between 2 weekend days or first 4 days: 4 days, or until the end of the first full weekend if it falls within the first 4 days (which would then result in first 2, 3 or 4 days). That would then becomes a rather complicated rule, but with such a close tie I-m tempted to consider a compromise here. E.g. for the next 1st of the month will be on 1st of October, a Sunday and thus would not amount to a full weekend. So that above rule would result in 1st through 4th of October as allowed dates.

I didn't see any counterproposals, so I guess it's 1 to 4 October 2006 for the 1 October 2006 Around The World In RC AP pics thread.

Again, just like the previous time:
* Up to 6 pics per entry.
* Pics must have been taken from an RC model aircraft
* Pics must have been taken and in the period mentioned.
* Please add
== date,
== location (including GPS coordinates if available),
== model, and
== camera.

Anybody else in for this ?

I'll be in- finally got my new cam rigged up and first vid this evening. Not really worthy of post - it was way to dark, you can hardly see the ground. But I'll have a plane up. Gotta represent MA.

I'll give it a try (weather and time permitting). It will have to be the Sunday in my case as the nights are drawing in and it's getting dull by the time I am back from work.

Well, bearded, the weathergods should allow you to do some good pics. I flew over your territory this morning, coming back from the US, and very good visibility with some scattered cloud.

I-ve just started the "1 October 2006 around the world in RC AP" thread for posting the pictures and asked RMihara to temporarilly make it a sticky. Everybody can post their pics there, even those who haven't given the "I'm in" response! Good luck everybody.

Anything goes, as long as it is taken from an RC aircraft (heli, plane, glider, blimp, balloon, kite with RC switch on the shutter). Just choose whatever subject is convenient and safe weatherwise. And if the weather is just too bad to fly safely, we'll even accept pics taken from the aircraft held in your hand and looking outside at the bad weather ;=) The intent is to show what the weather and other conditions are like in different parts of the world on the first few days of each quarter. So this will show early fall in the Northern hemisphere and early spring in the Southern.
