Mi-24 Hind on (4stroke O.S.) Hirobo Shuttle

Hi..
I plan to build Russian Mi-24 Hind on a Shuttle.
I plan to using 4 stroke on it to create more realistic sound..?
Yes, It is very chalanging 4 stroke? 5 main blades? 3 rotor blades?
mmm..

But first.. Is there someone ever convert Shuttle to 4 stroke?
Yes,, it is only modified engine mount, how is the performance of torque and RPM? etc??

Anyone had experiece of it??
Please tell me...

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, no Hind ever had a 4 stroke engine in it, so its going to sound wrong anyway.

If you are going to convert the mechanics to use a different power source, why dont you convert it to electric? At least it will sound like a turbine then.

I have converted several models from glow or gas to electric always with very satisfactory results, although I have never tried it with something as small as a Shuttle, so the only real advise I can offer you is to use a clutch in the transmission to take the load off when trying to spool up a 5 blade head.

Look here for my electric Shuttle conversion- video at the end. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=555469 you can't get much more realistic sounding either. I think you're barking up the wrong tree with the 4-stroke idea.

Well, thanks for the info..
but I already buy the 4 stroke O.S. 70s engine, i was plan to use it on my UC3D Planes.
but I change my mind to use it in my Hirobo Shuttle.

What are the reasons NOT to use 4 stroke engine on a heli??
less power?,
less RPM?
less stability?
Please answer, I just wanna know..

I think there are some heli that sound more like 4 stroke? Jet Ranger?, Bell UH-1B?, R-22? anyone know?? If there is a heli sound like 4 stroke than I plan to build it. Thanks guys..

Here is an original 90-class Hind (1/9.5 scale) due to a german guy;

So you should make an original fuselage of 70 size by using
Trumpeter 1/35 model:

Noise pollution (neighbours don't like i.c model engines(
Smoke
Smelly and slimy residue (not welcome inside most houses)
Carby tuning hassles, especially in hot weather
Fuel storage and transport
Vibration
Running costs
Heat build-up inside a scale duselage (especially in your climate)
4-strokes are heavy for their power output, brushless motors outperform even 2 strokes

I would suggest that you use the 4 stroke in a plane and fit brushless electrics in your scale heli.

Wow..
Thank for the link..
I think it is really rare that people use 4 stroke for rc heli, and now electric (bl) get better and better and cheaper and so the battery.. mmm need more money ha ha..
