The view from my office, bet ya can't beat this!

Just to make you all a bit jealous, here's a few photo's from my "office" in marlborough, NZ. If i'm not checking out the hawks thermalling over the vineyards , or cruising the cliffs over the river (if I can't see any, it's a rare moment) its looking at the hills dreamin' away until.......

HEY STOP THE PUMP THE TANKS OVERFLOWING!!!

On days like today, the 90hr weeks of nighshift and working 12hrs a day without a break during harvest are all worthwhile. That and the free wine of course

At the college where I work the ratio of female to male students is 7:1

Of course the view tends to be better in the summer

Honestly I haven't fished this river much, I haven't been here through a summer yet, but as it's just about to start I'll be getting a bit more in. There are rivers closer to where I live, one of which is famous for it's trophy sized trout but it's flyfishing only. This river mouth does have a lot of Kahawai (similar to your eastern states bluefish) which are a lot of fun to catch on light gear.

Unfortunately no, close as in the same state, but it's a four hour drive from Seattle. If you wind up in Portland however, it's only about an hour. From there, count on 1.5 to any except Greyback, which requires a little over 2 hours.

The closest serious slope to Seattle is Rampart ridge, about 1.5 hours. There are other hills closer to town but they are generally bumps from 50-300' of hill and they don't offer wide open slope ripping unless the wind is just right. This one has a bit under 2000' of relief and is in a wind tunnel location with incredible views of the Cascades and Rainier, and very vertical big air. Landing zone blows, as do outlandings. Foamies only, and only after the snow melts. A great hill though.
