Close

I'm really close to test flight day.
This weekends fun fly got me behind on my plastic forming work so it might be a day or two.
The good news is I only had to add 4 .oz of lead to the nose to balance it.
It would have been less if I could have put it under the nose gunners butt.
The motors are E-flight 480's and CC 25 amp ESC's, 9x5 prop.
It pulls 20 amps at full power and there is plenty of power here.
After a few flights I might try 450's. At 20 amps I can get away with using a three cell 2100 lipo.
All up weight so far 57 oz.
I'll finish adding more details latter.

Really looks fantastic. Good luck on the maiden.

You might consider sticking with the 480s. I did an efficiency comparison between the 450 and the 480 using the manufacture's specs and found that the 480 is much more efficent than the 450. At 10 amps and 11.1 volts the 450 efficiency is 76% while the 480 efficiency is 85%. So even with the additional 0.6 oz/motor and the fact you aren't using the motors to their full power capacity, you still get more bang for the buck.

Well if I can come by someone with a foam cutter this would be a fun project. In the mean time it'll be fun to see this one progress.
