Help with deciding which one to buy

I am currently flying a Blade CP with minor upgrades (al swash, 3 bearing grips, 3 cell lipo, 8T pinon). I am looking at getting a mini helicopter and want a Trex family helicopter (just too much support out there).

So the choices I have narrowed it down to are:

Trex 450SE - Abour $370 - 380 with Align 430L and 35 amp ESC

HeliDirect HDX 450 SE - $345 with Just Go Fly 450TH, and maybe Otter ESC

Or just get a Trex 450 XL CDE with a couple of things (MicroHeli Swash, main gear) and then upgrade over time - I have sort of ruled this one out.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I have some HS56 servos, will probably do a Futaba GY401 with S9650 digital servo for the tail (or HDS 577/877), and a 6 v BEC.

I don't know, I opted for the XL CDE at that point in time. My reasoning being that with crashes being inevitable and all, might as well be wrecking plastic stuff. I'm just doing loops and rolls now, and the only thing I am considering upgrading at this point is the swash. Definitely got some flex there. I am happy enough with the xl that I just bought a second one and built it with the helidirect stk frame. That's a great upgrade just from the build, adjustability and maintenance point of view. Makes the decision to buy an se even harder for me, as I really don't like the se frame.

XL with 430 and 35a, 234.99 made more sense to me.

Where can you get an se with 430L and 35a for $380? That might have changed my thinking.

I buy all I can from techmodelproducts.com and they are extremely competive and reliable, their price is closer to $460 for that combo.

The HDX450 is something I've considered, but I don't like the fact that its not 100% compatible with the rex. Now the new cyclone from rc-tek, that looks like a winner.

Well I brought a t-rex 450x sometime before last year, I got it off the net for $140 nzd, around 90us. And as a learner I didnt want to buy a kit with bling or cf cause I know id be smashing it. Not a bad kit but ill be upgrading the plastic swashplate. Ill upgrade as I need to, Best of luck for your choice
