ESky Belt CP BareBones build and setup....

I just got a new E-Sky Belt CP from HeliDirect... Steve is a great guy to deal with.... and they have a great selection of heli stuff. (spare parts too, a major plus in my books) Anyhoo this is an ARTF bare bones heli. It is mostly assembled in the box. The heli comes complete with woodies and plastic tail blades. No Motor is included.

Everything looks good, the linkages are smooth, there's even ball links on the servo side of the linkages...Nice touch.

The landing gear comes with the little rubber "feet" already in place on the skids another nice touch that ESky added those..

Electronics:

Servos: Hitek HS55s on cyclic, Futaba S3108 on the tail.

The motor is a HeliMax HMXG1001 Brushless 2580KV inrunner.

I'll be using a Castle Creations Thunderbird 18 ESC

For the RX I'm going to use a Hitek HS05S and for a gyro a GWS PG-03

I want to keep the heli avionics on a low budget and lightweight and see just what kind of performance I can get out of this heli using a decent motor for some basic aerobatic flight.

More to come.....

Ken

Since I had to count them....140 tooth main gear is stock....now to figure out the pinion and if it will fit.....If not, need to find a different motor....no problem. I'll find the perfect fit for this plastic fantastic(as I like to call em)..... I say it's an awesome heli for 108.00. With 215mm blades and 5mm main shaft.....hmmmm what other parts will fit this main shaft......T-REX and many others I'm sure.....

Keep it comin', Ken!!!

Quick question, though; this heli is looking quite a bit more complex than my humble Esky King - are the instructions up to snuff when it comes to setting this bird up, or are guys like me going to be lost without hope? My King manual was awful - left a lot of guesswork; I'm praying this isn't the case, because if so, I'm in a lot of trouble!!

One other question: I have a DN 2150 LiPo on order with the dimensions of 23mm x 34mm x 100mm - will this work? I sure hope so!!

God bless - "Rare"

I will have one of this on order from the mainland where it was produced. I believe this is a 400 size heli which I think the TP 1320 is a bit under-powered. Even for the King I am using a 1500 mah Lipo for running my 400TH outrunner. Please post your flying report once ready.

The manual is OK, the heli is an ARTF, so not much assembly is needed. The exploded views are great, as well as complete parts listing w/part numbers. The assembly portion of the manual is very good as well(if it was a kit, all the information for assembly is there). Unfortunately the setup portion of the manual leaves much to be desired....Link lengths are provided as well as basic electronics setup ie:which servo into which channnel etc....but that's about all that is covered in the setup portion of the manual.

I think I'm going to return this HeliMax motor and find a better suited motor for this heli.....(read that less expensive) The motor I found only has a KV of 2580, I want to find a motor close to 3800KV or near there... that way i can use some pinions I have available to me.

The requested "Beauty" Pics.......

Coming up soon......I'll point the individual servos out in the pics.... Its pretty easy to figure out.....it's CCPM with mechanical linkages to the servos instead of direct connect.

I'm kinda hosed on the build for a bit...I have no suitable batteries and I need to swap the motor I purchased for one closer to specs. Somewhere around 3800kv or so....

Enjoy..... Ken
