This model has the option of being built with retracts and since I have a spare set from a dead AT6 Texan I'll use it...need to straighten the struts but they work perfectly.

That looks promising

I want a warbird too, just can't decide which (now that the Stuka is discontinued).

Keep the building going (while you have the time )

Peter the Kyosho SQS series are very nicely finished, they're light too for their size and should fly nice aswell on electric...and yes this is one of my latest projects I guess so it better last a bit more than the others ...jezzz is great having a laugh on oneself isn't it ??? ( if "oneself" it makes sense )

The Spitfire looks nice, seem difficult to find them in Europe (been sitting here for 1.5 hours), where did you buy your Messerschmitt ?

I did find a P-51 Mustang from Seagull (who made my PC-9) light and quite large 154cm.

Great, thanks Alex

I'll build the Funtana before I'll buy another one, my wife looked funny at me when I said " it would be nice with a warbird".

I'm not too sure wether I should re-paint this model or not as the colour squeme is a bit funny with that violet on it on the other hand I'm not too sure I will be skillful enough to re-paint it all as a WWII full scale bird.

I've ordered some smaller new retracts from Towerhobbies...the ones from Great Planes designed for .40 sized planes so will see what I do at the end as this will take some time to arrive and I could take my time to re-paint the bird while the bits arrive.

Alex,

Here's a thread that I'm doing in the electric warbird section:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=539887

Towards the back, there is a post by Coastwatcher, in which he succeded in reversing the mech, on the Great planes retract, to work on the ME-109.
I'm almost done with mine.

Good Luck

AP thanks I actually found out last night about your conversion and subscribed to it...great job you're doing/done on that bird.

Here's what I would like to paint it like...Spanish Civil War livery...I'm not too sure whether to go with the nationalists or republicans as me being catalan we specially suffered under nationalists once they won the war and Franco ruled for too many years...but as this is just a hobby and the colour scheme is nice I might forget about politics this time

I'm not too sure which color is that on the pics as it's difficult to know if that was the one really used at the time but it looks a desert sand colour to me...

Thanks for that it'll make it easier now as I think I've got some home so could start repainting today or tomorrow.

Cheers,

Well after some thinking I think I'll go for the english scheme as the spanish one would make it almost impossbile to follow on air...any idea where I could find the wings scheme ???

Colours as far as I know should be dark brown, dark green and yellow.

I've finally decided to go unscale on the repainting scheme as what I really want it to have a very easy to follow model when flying and the camouflage schemes are not the best for that ...that's what they are for...aren't they ?...so here's the fuse repainted...and the cowl too.

Will proceed as soon as I get some more paint as I ran out of yellow for the underneath of fuse and wings.

Hope it will look right once all of it is repainted
