How to test nicad battery cells?

I have 3 packs subc cell 8 cells Sanyo CP2400.
They are 3 years old but I have not used them that often since I don't fly regularly.
Now I found that they don't discharge high current for long anymore.
I use them for my Corona heli and I have very short flight with them but fine with other battery packs.
The problem packs are all Sanyo CP2400 cells.
Is there a simple way to test the cells individually. I am thinking of disassembling the packs and use the good cells.
Maybe I can get a couple of packs out of them.

Try a slow charge at around 240ma for 14-16 hours, they may wake up... From what I understand nimhs dont like to lay around totaly discharged like nicads so they may be history, but I would give it a try anyway I would check them every so often for excessive heat though if you decide to C/10 charge them!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck
Bob

Question for you Hal

Where do they leak Hal? We have sold thousands of these cells and they have been used in Combat Robots for years and last hundreds of cycles.

DMA uses hundreds of thousands of them.

My thoughts

If you have not used these very often they can be recovered easily with a few cycles. CP2400 cells will last 500 cycles if they were not abused.

thanks,
Steve

Thanks everyone.

I will do a slow charge on them.
The 3 packs seem to have lost the high discharge soon after I replaced my supernova 250S charger with a swallow/hyperion charger. I had ebayed the supernova.
I don't know if it's a coincidence or the supernova charger has a better charging system? They still take 2000 mah+ charge though.
