as long as you dont get any CA on the plastic, and the transparency is high quality (what i ised was not high quality), you will get a good pic. what you could use are microscope slide covers which are very thin slivers of glass.

Use Elmers white glue for the windows. It dries clear, won't make a mess like CA and can be cleaned off with care when dried.

GHOST 2501 Can you still get slide glass? I can't find it anywhere. maybe it is just my part of France. Any contacts would be welcomed.

Nice camera and mounting Bbcliffe.

I look at all those cameras anytime I get down to the local "Fry's" electronic warehouse.

So fiddling around with the plumbing the last day or two, and finally got the setup I wanted. Had to heat bend some of the CPVC pipe, but it was the perfect size for the stacks. Here is some of the latest work, and the results the extra plumbing.

JJC "Smoke" generator picked up from Harbor Models. It's not on his website yet, but a very good price, $99.
Turbo Desiel Sound Generators are backordered.

maybe from a photographic supplier, as you can get glass plates for 35mm slides to protect them, they go over each side of the slide in the case.

Umi, can you kill the motors im choking on diesel fumes here! *cough*

perhaps having a fan linked to the motor, so at "idle", the smoke just flows from the stacks, but as power is applied, the fans force blow air to simulate engines revving harder

I was just checking the plumbing to be sure it was adequet.
The unit instructions describe it as fully proportional for steam, diesel, and
puffing desiel operation. I played with the show mode, and the "puffing" is a bit soft, as it only increases and decreases the fan speed. It seems to produce more of a high flow, low flow rather than a "puff".
Until I get all the ESC hooked up, and all the electronic installed, I won't get a full test of the JJC smokers abilities.

Umi_Ryuzuki that is simply outstanding. Almost makes me want to try and retrofit it on mine.

Cheers

Umi, a friend purchased a used 12 volt air compressor and took it apart and just used the pump section. He put a pully on the shaft of the boat and on the pump and using a belt drive pumped this to the smoke unit. As the rpm on the motor increased the pump output also increased. At idle the smoke just eased out of the stack but as the motor shaft rpm increased the smoke pulsated until it became a strong emission. I have often thought of using a worn out small model airplane engine and trying the same process. Jerry J
