Dymond\Lanier F-4 Phantom 48 ARF

I Have this plane and an E-flite 46 BL motor can someone recomend an esc, prop, battery combo for this plane? Any information would be great I am having a hard time finding anything.

As an experienced prop jet electric converter (self-proclaimed) First thing you need to do is see how much prop clearance you have. Then work from that. I have 3 power 46's and they are great motors. I have flown planes from 5.5 to 7.5 lbs with them. Generally you can run a 13x8 or 13x10 APC prop on 4S...if you don't have the ground clearance you can go to a 5S with, say, a 12x10 prop (you need a wattmeter to be sure) I run the Castle Phoenix 60 with a separate UBEC on 4S. Suggest Thunder Pwer 4S4200 or better 4S6000 if you can clear the 13" prop, Don't expect a super-fast plane with this setup though, maybe 70-75 mph or so....

This is a 47 inch wing span rc-dymond F4 Phontom Puller Propeller JET!

1. You selection of the E-Flite 46 will have sufficient nose weight for good CG arrangement and of course good TORQUE .....
2. In studying the pictures at rc-dymond, the supplied landing gear assemblies do not seem to provide enough clearence for anything larger than a 9 - 10 inch diameter propeller (Hence it is a Glow Model after all )
3. I am not a self proclaimed RC Puller Propeller JET expert but, this model screams for a small diameter propeller and HIGH PITCHed setup assuming you are going to replicate the GLOW version (My following suggestion will make it even better than GLOW).

Okay, lets start by disclosing the Model's Specifications in the GLOW setup...notice it's weight all the way to 5lbs. My recommended setup will be 4.4lbs. "or" 71oz. assuming a empty airframe weight of 40oz.

The advantages of your selected power system (E-Flite 46) is it delivers good amount of TORQUE and therefore, using a smaller Diameter propeller and Higher pitched propeller (more so than if it was a GLOW powered model) will make this Phantom fly like the real thing, without the vibration nor the slime. And the motors efficiency is maximized.

E-Flite 46, Swinging the APC "SPORT" 9 X 8 Propeller, Castle Creations PHX-45, Thunder Power "Pro-Lite" 2100 cells in the 6S2P (4200mAH total) 15C discharge, will make this model attain a top speed of 90 MPH or better. All this with a projected wing loading of just 20oz./Sq.-Ft.

Oh, lets not forget the Propeller RPMs at above 12,000!!!

Again, recommended setup will be 4.4lbs. "or" 71oz. assuming a empty airframe weight of 40oz.

Thanks for the information guys now I just need to pick up some of the stuff and get it setup. Do you guys mind if I ask more questions as I go I am a newbie to all of this. Thanks for your replies.
