Perseid meteor shower

The cloud's just started to clear, and the meteors are visible here for the first time in about 6 years.

As this is the start, it looks like a good show is due.

So far,all are in the eastern sky at around 30 degrees from the horizon.

Won't be much of a show here. The air is hotter than the meteors when they burn up!

unfortunately, I won't be able to see anything.....I am spending the next few days at the Pentagon, and nobody mentioned the fact that D.C. appears to be located roughly a 1/4 mile from the sun. I thought I was going to spontaneously combust when I arrived here today.

I'll be watching, but the sky in Atlanta isn't the best...

I can't wait until the cooler weather to get my telescopes out (modded Meade ETX 90mm, Celestron N5)...

Get a good look at them. The next time they will be this bright is projected to be 2004. Their brightest showing will be in 2028 if you can wait that long

Perseids

Sorry, I live in the UK - we don't understand 'hot'.
