All that sailplane technology on the field and we didn't have any laptops with wifi to find some radar data on Saturday. Friday was great, flying 3 full rounds. Rock hard ground. Saturday finished rounds 4 and 5 except for several distance groups when the thunderstorms started rolling in. There was a particularly nasty series just south of Muncie with the edge of the rain extending up to the AMA site. Lots of rain Saturday night. The field was soft on Sunday after the rain. But low clouds in the morning prevented flying from starting up. At least we didn't finish round 5 distance in dead morning conditions. There was some thermal activity by the time the ceiling was high enough to fly. Aftet that we did round 6 and it was close to 3PM.

Only one mid-air flying distance between Aaron and Dennis Phelan which toasted a Europhia and a Tragi. Of course it was way out south of the soaring area and beyond the control line speed area. A few other launch errors and a speed error damaged a few more models.

And yes, the Tragi 702 still seems to have some life in it. Tom flew most of the contest with #323, probably vintage 2000.

Just a quick couple of pictures from Thursday's practice day. Things were too hectic for a new F3B flyer to bring the camera out during the serious days.

GOOD WORK! to ALCON for making it happen, but particular personal kudos to OFBs Tom K & Mike L (who have switched bride/bridesmaid positions from a while back - turnabout is fair play!?) Looking forward to a great showing in Lucerne (near where I went to school once - before most of you were born!) next summer. Good Lift!
