For all that have been using the 2836 2350kv

What is the biggest prop you can get on the Turnigy 2836 2350kv on ...

3S and 4S???

Without killing it of course. I am planning to use it on my "small park" stryker.

Thanks

Hi to all,

I was looking to build a stryker, but I was wondering what would be a fast setup.Motor, prop, battery and esc. Also what servos are being used in the wing?

Thank in advance!

A little help please guys.......

My TX is a futaba t6 xeh and cannot do mixing so i generally use a v-tail mixer which works fine. I have a co-pilot clone but have yet to get it to work correctly. Would you place the copilot

rx---copilot---mixer---servos ?
or
rx---mixer---copilot---servos ?

also would i need to use a negative value or a positive value for the "gyro" channel to adjust the sensitivity ?

Thanks

Hi Nico,
I would ask that you please be a little more specific with your inquiry.
We need to define your version of fast.
Some Dudes (maybe 4 or 5) think fast is above 175 mph
Some Dudes (maybe 4,000 or 5,000) think fast is 125 mph

Servos will depend on how fast you want to go.

This is something that I am flying,I don't have a way to measure the speed but here is a video. As far as the Stryker goes I'd like to go faster.

scousethief,

The second scenario makes more sense to me.

RX, Mixer, Copilot, then servo.

I suggest you talk to Howard, the tech for FMA direct. He knows this stuff well.

His number is: 301-668-4280

FMA Direct: 1-800-343-2934

I hope those numbers have not changes since I put them in my cell phone...long ago.

http://www.fmadirect.com/

Ask all of your questions from him, I believe most of us use Spektrum not Futaba with Co-pilot.

***If your servos are FUTABA digitals, then you will need servo buffer as well ...per Co-pilot manual.

In general, if you have a rotating knob on transmitter, the first half is "OFF" position, and the second half is "ON" position and with increasing gain control as you turn towards max.

Everyone seems to really like those Mega motors, but where do you get them from? I found a few places online where you can special order them for $130 but there are people saying you can get them for $95. I'm looking at Neu 11** motors again because you can actually buy them (and get support for them).

WOW..................
That looks pretty fast. Doppler gets you close to 125mph
Can you let us know what is in that setup in your video ?

OK, so you want to go faster, eh ?
Your Stryker will NEED to have ALOT of re-enforcing done and be built like a brick sh*thouse to get the speeds below.

4 cell..........140+ mph;
MEGA 16/35/1.5
Phoenix 125
TP Pro Power 4s3850 (minimum) 4s5000 (best)
APC 6.5 x 5 (to start with, then you can dial it in and prop up from there)
Heatsink from LightFlight

5 cell..........150+ mph;
MEGA 16/35/2
Phoenix 125
TP Pro Power 5s3850 (minimum) 5s5000 (best)
APC 7 x 5 (to start with, then you can dial it in and prop up from there)
Heatsink from LightFlight

Thanks Gryphon ill send them an email , im in the UK so those numbers are scary lol . The servos are standard mg ones not digital and no dials just an onscreen % from -100 to +100 for gyro gain.

thanks

Spy,

That is a great idea....you should go ahead and order a NEU 1100 series.

We will see how long it takes them to build you one, and when/if you bend its shaft, how long it will take them to service it.

You can order NEU motors from Castle Creations:

http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...motors/nm.html

p.s. The red font says "6-8 weeks".

Have fun,

Gryphon

If you dubble click the video it opens up to the full you tube video and has the motor setup on the sidebar. But anyway it is pushing 600 watts @ 4S,and I will be trying it on a 5S soon.I can't find a Mega 16/35/XX but I do see 16/25/XX.Any help where I can find them and what kind of watts are you getting out of the 4S and 5S setups.

Thanks for your help.

Why so touchy? I know they're made to order, but Megas seem to be nowhere to be found and nobody hear has provided any links. So instead of telling me things I already know why not try to be helpful or go away.

My point exactly, except for that last part of course (since immature and useless responses don't mean help, at least to me). The way people talk about them it sounds like they're the best motors on the market for the Stryker, but that does no good if you can't get one....

For everyone else that's looking, I found some here. They're based in the Czech republic but they're available.

Espritmodel.com has a few of the Neu 1100 series motors in-stock. Not sure which exact model you were looking for, but here's the link directly to the Neu motors page, click on the motor you're interested in then check the drop-down menu to figure out which exact model they have in-stock...

Thank you for the link. I'm not sure on anything right now. I've read through over 100 pages of posts on 3 different forums trying to do my research on this thing to get it as close to right as I can the first time around, I still need to think on it some more. The normal 1100s have a 3.2mm shaft which seems to be fine in lighter Strykers and ones running smaller props and the Heli versions have a larger shaft (4mm or 5mm, I don't recall which). I heard the impeller in the heli versions will cause issues in a pusher application because it will push the impeller into the stator and ruin the motor so I E-Mailed Castle a couple days ago to get a price quote on one with the thicker shaft but without the impeller. If worst comes to worst I'll buy the Heli motor and either remove the impeller myself or put a thrust bearing between the prop adapter and the motor can to prevent the rotor from being pushed forward.
