Has anyone heard of the servo's stripping?

Thanks

change the stock servos, they stand to glitch ALOT

and yes the 25AMP esc is big enough, but you can always go bigger

WorldStar40,

The stock battery and ESC are near maxed out. All you can do is to upgrade to APC E 6X5.5 to increase your speed from 65 MPH to 72 MPH.
You better watch the temps of battery and ESC, especially now that summer is here.
Might need throttle control, with full throttle used sparingly.

The motor can give you more power, but you have to get rid of those two bottle necks.

Make sure that a new ESC is good for 4S and about 40A...I doubt you will prop above 35A though.

Good luck,

Gryphon,

The 40a Eflite v.2 I have only lists as being rated for a 3s lipo. Will it fry on a 4s, just not work or are they under-rating it?

Anyone else who knows is welcome to chime in as well.

Wingwrecker,

Don't run that ESC on 4S.

It is not that it'll fry, because it can also handle 12 cell NiMh with is similar to 4S Voltage, but your main issue is the cutoff voltage.

*** Don't even fantasize about flying with it and then landing early.....I just had to say that because we all had such thoughts at some point, or known someone who did.
You will be sorry if you try it...not an option.

Also the internal BEC (to feed receiver/servos) is not rated for that high voltage. 3S or 10 cell NiMh max.

The 40A PRO version is good for 6S, so is its switching type BEC.

$10 more gets you the 60A PRO good for 120 MPH Strykers.

Understood. I'm not going to put my new 4s's at risk! I already have the ESC handy is why I asked. I have an 80a Mystery on the way but I need to get a UBEC for it. I'll be testing the readings with it before I take it up.

I've been using the stock stryker motor, a 60 amp esc, 4 cell 2200 mah, and a 6x5.5 prop with great success. Any advice on a prop that will take me faster using this setup?

Has anyone ever had to send a stryker or other parkzone plane back to ParkZone for replacement? If so, can you share your experience?

I've flown a 16/25/3 Mega (kv 1800) on 4S 2200, 7/5 APCe, 40 amp Turnigy esc, it was a rocket before the wings separated in a dive.
This is an excellent esc with a switchable bec..

Gotta another one ready for Canada Day weekend...no dives this time..!

bracky72,
DO you have wattmeter readings?
How hot does your battery, and motor get?
What are the ESC and battery ratings?

Are you looking for more speed or more climbing?
Is risking acceptable to you?

We are waiting to get some data in.

gotboostedvr6,
bracky72 said he has stock motor, 4S, 6X5.5 and wants to go faster...6X4 will not fly faster.

nwjt,
My experiences returning to Horizon Hobby has been GREAT, except that it usually takes from 3 weeks to a month.
I learned to have spares to avoid down time.

retiredVTT,
16/25/3 is a 1700KV motor. My same setup on 3S would get radared at 72 MPH, your 4S must have been solid 20 MPH faster in level flight.
I bet your dives placed you at 100MPH or faster.
Did you have C.F. running from left to right side across the middle, or at least tape running the same way?
During acceleration and climbing, or static tests you would be pushing your pack, but at high speed the amps will unload nicely...pretty effective use of your pack.

If you want more power swinging more aggressive props consider 2500 to 3300 cells.

My brother loved it when he upgraded (2) TP 4S-3300 25C packs. For max climbing he used the same APC E 7X5. For top speed APC sport 7X7, I know APC sport 7X8 would not be an issue at all. He ran Hyperion 80A ESC.
Now has TP 5S-3300 25C

Yes in a long dive. He uses a TP extreme 2200 3s1p which gets very hot.
