Hola stryker guys. Going to put a small motor on the nose of a light stryker build. Anyone have advice to what down thrust would be good?

Made a different thread here for more exposure. But then i was thinking maybe ask this thread. Even though its not a super high powered stryker. You guys still have tons of experience with the plane. Plus i have asked questions here before and got great info. Thanks for any help!!!

Depends on the prop size and amount of thrust. The bigger the prop the more down/right angle you will need.
How small is your motor, btw?

I'm fitting a very small motor in the one I'm building now, but it still goes in the back. The purpose of the build is simply to carry a 18g camera around wherever I want to. Very light and very slow - new words in my vocabulary

Debating between 3 motors. A 10gram 5amp, 24 gram 8 amp or a 31gram 8amp. They produce 6, 16, and 20 oz of thrust.

Doing a firewall mount so i should be able to switch them out easily. Will use a 12amp ESC for all three.

The purpose of the small 10 gram motor is to hopefully glide around with the throttle shut down. Only using it for take off and gain altitude. The 24g and 31g motors would be for trying to learn 3d style of flying. Putting huge rudders and elevons on it.

We all know how well the Stryker C flies with a couple of kW on board. What amazes me now is how well a full body Stryker flies with only 50W
Beautiful weather today, and I took the UltraLight for a spin...
