Pat, you read my mind. I just came back from a holiday where I flew a Zero with a GWS 350C-C gear with a Lipo about 2 feet off a river. Awesome handling and just the right speed.

I fully intend to just throw the kit together and take to the air. Surgeries and out patients can wait . No matter what day of the week my plane gets here. The doctor is OUT.

LoL Doc, in a funny way... I'm so glad you're not MY doctor haha

I'm goin BL right away since it's NPS systems only for now... either GWS 2215's or BP-09's, 08's, 12Delta's, or 21's... haven't decided yet.

Either way, mine will end up with some HL bombs mounted on both sides of the middle pod... twin BL motors will have plenty of thrust and speed for them.... BoMbS away!

GWAEO023C-------GWS-38 BL2208 Twin Siliver --------89.95

that is an amazing price. Is there any chance at all you could offer it unpainted with the motors? I really have a paint scheme in place that I'm going to do on mine and I'd love to test out the motors that you all have designed but I'd rather not have to deal with sanding it down to remove the factory paint. I'd still pay the $89.95 for an unpainted version with motors. Otherwise I'll probably stick a couple of BP motors on it. I can't find those motors in my area in stock.

Here is the range that will be available from a LHS. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=587

What a pity that the Early Birds are not available with the 2208 and no paint. I think that it would have been the favored option for most Early Birders, I know I would have taken one instead of the NPS version.

Not enough?

You can always *INCREASE* wingloading! That's what fiberglass, poly, and lead are for!

For a version without motors the wing loading would be about 8-9 oz/sq ft so I think that the GWS-38 would make a good sloper. It should have no trouble handling winds up to 15 MPH. Above that you can always add ballast at the CG the same as with other slopers.

My 41 inch span P-38 is a very good flying model and it wants to glide forever on the landing approach. The gliding landing approach is also fast. The wing loading on this model is 9 oz/sq ft.

Yup. If the weight is low enough I expect this will fast replace the Corsair as the "first warbird" of choice.

I have already e-mailed Joyce asking for a white kit with the outrunners. If you want one of these the more e-mails that are sent the better the chance of getting one on Early Birds.

The EPS-300 is only good for two cells Lipo. 3 cells will destroy this motor unless you throttle it back to the same power as two cells. The current draw on two cells with a 9x 7.5 propeller is 7.5 amps.

The 2208-18T outrunner test results are in the two atachments.
