I'm afraid that rudedog did not calculate from the exact point
where Kensp and I applied.

There are two posibilities;-

Posibility 1; My CG is too far back. If this is so my aeroplane must be uncontrolable and this video must be a fake. http://www.kensp.com/GWS-38%20first%20video.wmv

Possibility 2; rudedog's CG is too far forward and although his aeroplane is controlable it is not flying efficiently.

Could it also be possible one of you is balancing the model right side up, and the other upside down?

Hmmm, smaller than the GWS-38, and more expensive.

No thanks. It's an ugly ARF anyways.

Yes itís definitely smaller. Iím not so sure thatís a bad thing though. Seems every time I beat the drum for larger models someone does the same for smaller ones. With a wing span for over 40Ēs I would not call it small however. BUT if it does reach the 30 ounces of AUW itís going to have a wing loading approaching 20 ounces! Thatís glow territory!

Ugly?? Hmmm itís <in my opinion> MORE scale then the GWS G-38. So Pat is the Lockheed P-38 ugly as well? Sorry I could not resist. If you want to call a P-38 ugly, have a look at my nitromodels RED oneÖ LoL thatís ugly!!

Hey, thatís odd they are calling this one a P-38. How come GWS canít call theirs a P-38? < Ill duck out before getting hit by a rock on that one! >

Itís $20 bucks more then what I paid for my GWS <plus another $20 to ship it to the USA> model but hey what a cool hobby that gives us another P-38 to choose from.

I say itís all good!

Now we just need some Betty bombers to shoot down!!

Tommy

I have balanced my model both upright and inverted and in both cases the CG was 93 MM from the LE, measured at the side of the pod.

rudedog

My model does not have an undercarriage either.

Well, mines 3/4 done. Just wanted to ask, does the elevator really need to be cut out, and then hinged? It seems fine just the way it is, not too much stiffness to it. Did you guys cut yours out and re-hinge?

J,

DO NOT cut the hinge line! Only trim out the area on the sides to allow free movement. All will be fine.
