underpoweed!

I find the BL gws setup w/ 11.1 lipo and 8-4.3 props almost underpowered! Does anyone have the same setup and what is your opinion or suggestion?

Keith

Exactly what BL motor and battery are you using. This information is needed before a recomendation can be made because all of the different motor and battery combinations require different propellers.

My own GWS-38 uses two GWS 2208-18 Outrunners and two 10 Amp ESCs. I use GWS 9 x 7.5 HD propellers when flying on 2 cells and GWS 9 x 5 HD propellers when flying on 3 cells.

In my opinion the GWS 8 x 4.3 RS is not suitable for the newer more powerfull motors as it was designed for slower flight and lower RPM.

What type of paint will closely match the silver for the GWS P-38?

I would like to paint the transparent plastic parts to match, as closely as possible.

Thank you all in advance.

the Slowfly Props from GWS like the 8x4,3 are not a good choice for plane like the P-38. They are not for fast fly developed, u kann hear the strange noice if u fly over. The HDs are a good choice.

I will take GWS 9x5HD or the APC 9x7,5E

I used testers "silver" in a spray can. Seemed to match pretty well to my eyes.

Cincy,

Thank you for the information.

By the way, your P-38 looks great!

I should have mine by the end of today!

My P-38 is about 1/2 built. The advice on the Testor's silver was great! The longest time spent on any one issue was masking the canopy.

All the parts fit well.

I will have to wait a week or so for the brushless motors to arrive.

Thank you all again.

Got my P38 Wednesday, finished building it stock with GWS bl motors and gws 25a ESC by Thursday and maidened it just an hour ago. Oh so happy! just a couple clicks elev and a couple clicks alie and she was tracking straight. My only gripe was that the wind was blowing like 10-15mph and kept changing directions just to add to my nervousness. Yes this was the maiden, in wind . So todays flight lasted maybe 10min. During my final landing the wind changed yet again and I had to fight a crosswind . None the less I brought her down safely.

Thank You Mr. Lin

thanks Taxdodger Good Luck with that 190...Have you seen that prototype A4? WOW!

This morning had another good flight. Winds was 10mph according to The Weather Channel. Made for some really slow landings. I love that because you can really get a good look at your model flying.

Congratulations on the successful Maiden! Welcome to the GWS-38 Club. As you can see it is one of the best flying Warbirds there is.

I have one question. What Battery are you using to get ten minuet flights?

Or are you being a bad boy and running your battery down low, LOL

I agree it is a great flyer, except when 1 motor stops working 10ft off the deck.

Resulting damage cracked main wing, both fins and tailplane broken and 1 boom broken. Its gone back together really well and just needs some paint .
