Ade. I get the same result with my Blade TX. The graphs are similar too. With the gap going high.
Malc. The gradiations on both scope pics are at 1ms. So the pulse width looks to be within 1 and 2ms. Zaragon. I checked and the shell is grounded. If I measure with ground and signal reversed I get a graph that looks just like Malcs. I don't dare trying flipping the signal and ground when plugged into the interface without confirmation from the Phoenix guys. I have yet to hear back from them on that. Malc. Maybe they don't support both + and - edges and instead just have the adapter wiring flipped. This is why I'd like to find someone with an actual Esky adapter and check it on a the meter. Malc. I'm not so familiar with the scope program you are using. Where would a reference 0 volts be? If your signal is only negative then maybe I do indeed just need to flip the signal and ground on my adapter. |

The scope is one of the freeware soundcard based Oscilloscopes, so i can't actually give you any voltages (something to do with the A/c decoupling on soundcards or something). as the JR has a 3.5mm I simply used a 3.5mm mono jack plug to 3.5mm mono jack plug lead to capture the trace.

do you know anybody with one of the higher quality transmitters you could try with it?

The buddy output on JR Txs is already capacitively coupled within the Tx so it floats with respect to ground anyway. On the ones I've measured the amplitude can be anywhere between 1.5V p-p and 6V p-p. The "gap" (reset pulse) needs to be at least 3-4ms for it to work. The signal from the ESky Tx looks more like a Futaba signal with the pulses going high. It's slightly lower amplitude, Futaba is usually around 7-8V p-p.
Ade, I'd guess that Phoenix uses a single interface circuit with just different leads for the different Tx makes. Do we know if that's true ? If so and it can cope with both JR and Futaba signals it shouldn't really have a problem with the Esky. It's always possible that Billy simply has a bad one. Steve |

the phoenix is just one interface with a jack on the end. this works for JR. For other tx's there are adapters that plug into the lead to suit your tx.
billy i have spoken to phoenix, you bought it from ebay, there is a chance that the interface you have is dodgy. do you have a picture of it? a link to the auction might help too. Ade |

I didn't buy from Ebay. I bought it from a guy on rcgroups. I'll PM you the link Ade. He was running it on a 7202.
I'm guessing the issue is what slipstick mentioned. I'm just waiting for confirmation that the interface will be ok with neg volts before I try. |

Hmm, wasn't there a problem with early links and JR Txs blowing the link system? Maybe a blown link box.

I've got an Esky radio here that I use for a simulator it is a model E8 according to the box. Having just pulled apart the plug for the USB interface the signal is on Pin 1 according to the pin out billzelsnack had in one of his earlier posts.
There is a picture of the socket in another thread, the picture is: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...hmentid=666037 and the signal pin is the top left pin. |

Hi Ade,
Can you tell me if PhoenixRC visually represents an aircrafts undercarriage suspension? (Its one things I really liked about AFPD) It mentions a "gear spring" parameter in the manual. thanks, Tony (I could just wait a couple of days and find out myself since I've just sold my copy of AeroFly and ordered PhoenixRC )

must admit that suspention isnt at the top of my list of priorities but just fired it up and yes you do get some bounce... its not quite as springy as afpd tho.

Thanks for the response. Its one of little things I liked especially on AFPD’s Sikorsky S-58.

I see that they have added the T-rex 450 and 600's to the sim. It's quite nice that they are releasing free planes/helis as often as they are. g3.5 has really disapointed me. I've got an old E-flite Blade CP tx laying around. Anyone know if that will work with the sim?

the best thing in this case is to drop them an email.
i can vouch that Ashley has a good job, flown both the 450 and 600 and the sim is a very good representation of them both. Ade |
