Dear foam lunatics,

I've ended up changing quite some things on the plans. I've lengthened the nose by 10mm, corrected tab hole positions, added a nice square hole in the former, changed the former shape, made a simple tapered nose and I threw away all the excess control surfaces.

Letter and A4 sized templates are now one single file, containing six pages.

Good luck building your free Depron Duplex Delta 3 !!!

Vincent

Looks good at first glance

Thanks again!

You may want to edit the links on the first post to these links, so guys won't have to dig as far.

My pleasure.

Glen, You've got the updated plans in your Mac mailbox...

Gene, I've updated the first post.

I've been busy tonight... (it's 23:30 over here)

Went together fine. Glue's drying. Made one modification.

If I clamped the tail together, the whole fuse would obviously come together.

I've put a piece of foam between the tail, on the bottom wing's back to prevent this. Might add that to the plan.

The idea of a removable top wing was stupid. I've glued everything together now, and will make hatches to get acces to the inner fuse. (Just like Gene)

Started cutting templates at 19:00, all glued together at 23:00. (I'm a slow builder)

Got an electro fly meeting this saturday. I want it to fly there.

I've got a jobless BP-21 on the shelf. Not for long. Should be fun.

It's much smaller than I thought...

What about elevon throws? 10mm enough?

Square firewall fitted like a glove this time...

Not sure quite what you mean... I glued just the bottom-rear, up around to the top front of the fin, where the notch for the rear of the top wing is... Ran a bead, and glued together around the edge. The triangular 'tail' of the bottom wing sets the spacing for the fuse on the bottom vs the top... At least that's what I assumed you intended

I thought about it, letting it sit for a day or so, but I really needed to glue to the top wing, to hold the shape of the fuse. Then decided on the hatch

Yup, and that's a bunch'o'motor Mine's more like a 14-15t CDR motor.

Should be plenty.

Hope you have at least 1/2 the fun I do with it!

I flew it again today! I forgot the canopy though! It flies well without it! I didn't have a battery heavy enough to balance, so unfortunately it was slightly tail heavy. The new plans with the nose 1CM longer should help! The video below stinks, but the plane does not! Thanks again everyone who helped me get this bird in the air!

BTW, did I forget to mention UNLIMITED VERTICAL CLIMB?? I reinforced the top wing with a carbon rod also. This plane will do anything not I want it to. FAST spiraling dives, etc. I'll try and post a better video soon!

What can I say... The video was kind of lacking but I promise you, better than nothing! what I am trying to figure out is how you were able to "transform it" into a yellow cub? That my friend was wicked cool. and I never saw your hand move!

That was slick! The best I can do is turn them into a bag of parts

Thought the BP-21 probably was too crude for this little gem. Ordered a nice Chinese 40gr 1611 kV motor. Should run a APC E 6 x 5,5 at 12000 rpm, giving 90km/u (56Mph) and 350 gram thrust. AUW weight around 250 gram.
